2. Tell us about your background and your role in the company.
We started our offerings as a web design and development company and soon moved to SEO. I founded PageTraffic in 2002 when SEO industry was in nascent stage in India. It's been an exciting journey since then. Some of our clients whom we signed way back in 2002 are still with us. With non availability of SEO professionals or good resources online, it was challenging to train our team. Some of the training modules and quality guidelines I developed in 2002 still hold good. For the last couple of years my role mainly has been training and managing full time SEO Consultant division of our company, besides at times helping our SEO teams strategize new SEO campaigns. As I personally believe that a good beginning is half the job done.
3. What are your main services?
In the last eight years, we have specialised in White Hat SEO methods, full time SEO consultants (our best seller) and link building. Currently, we have also incorporated Reputation Management and Social Media Optimization into our services. The stress on strategy setting and wholesome SEO methods still differentiate our services from the competition.
4. What makes your firm different from other companies competing in the industry?
PageTraffic has never been a part of any competition. Starting way before our competition did, I am happy to say that we have always retained the advantage and the lead. In each of our projects, we have been highly goal oriented and made use of all the available resources and newest technologies, to surprise the clients. Our Full Time SEO Consultant service has been extremely popular amongst the US and the UK clients. Over 40+ companies currently employ our Full Time SEO Consultants to help them manage their SEO projects.
In the last couple of years, numerous SEO companies have emerged, bringing about a healthy competition. While companies with non-descript SEO processes have been undercut by better service providers, PageTraffic has benefited from its distinguished brand image and solid client base. The extra effort during good times has helped us in these tough times.
In fact, in the times of recession when every company is trying to cut costs and play safe, we got the best of word-of-mouth PR from our clients. The result being while other companies are handing out pink slips, we have been aggressively hiring!
5. Tell us more about your firm’s success story.
Every time we deliver what we promise to our clients, we value that as a success. With over 90% client retention rate and a healthy growing client base of 650+, we have been compelled to open another office in Noida, India, besides a sales office in Chicago and our Head-Quarter in New Delhi. Also Being ranked as the No.2 SEO company and the No.1 link building company in India, reflect PageTraffic’s solid processes and commitment to results.
PageTraffic has also been ranked the No.28 SEO company in the world and we are sure of climbing the ranks very soon.
6. According to you, what are the most important questions a potential customer should ask a company before choosing a vendor like you?
The single most important factor while choosing an SEO company is their experience and reputation. Search the SEO Company name in Google and see what all you come across. Request and review references, it always helps.
7. What are some of the myths in your field?
Guaranteed top ranking is the biggest myth in the SEO industry. Rankings depend on quite a many dynamic factors and the claim to deliver top position within a short period of time is simply a false promise.
Precisely why, we run a keyword analysis and feasibility study before we finalise every new project. We lay out realistic targets and strive to over-achieve them than making big promises and failing to deliver.
8. How do you develop skills in this continuously changing environment?
I guess it’s important to communicate and keep in touch with people to improve one’s methods. Be it through my own blog, online forums or getting in touch with other experts at conferences, I learn through my interactions. It keeps me updated about the latest trends, helps in discussing new possibilities and tap into other’s individual resources.
9. What do you see as the future of the industry? What will be the challenges; do you anticipate any drastic changes?
SEO is being increasingly seen as an intrinsic part of every marketing strategy. It’s cost effective, measurable and the bold new way to move forward. With recession hitting on, the demand for organic SEO has grown many folds and so does the value of being in top ten. I see an ever-growing demand for SEO for next few years to come. However with Google mixing universal search and local results, the process is going to evolve more and the stress will be more on conversions rather than rankings.
10. Where do you see your firm in the next five years? What about you personally?
What defines us is our company's motto: Get new customers everyday! Five years down the line I still see us doing the same for our customers, however on a larger scale than what we are doing now and beyond SEO. Personally, I see myself doing the same as what I am doing now, helping our clients get new customers everyday! Creating value for our customers and investors.
