While a great deal of time and money has been dedicated to increasing visitor traffic, until now little has been done to convert this increased traffic into productive business activity.

Background

In 2003, while managing a technology company with a growing e-commerce initiative, we spent a great deal of time and money redesigning our website. When we launched the new site we were shocked by its poor performance. The original 'ugly' site performed much better.

In an attempt to solve our website conversion problem we examined available solutions and quickly learned that they were out of our league. These complex mathematical modeling tools were very expensive and they required a high volume of website visitors. Although we were a fair sized software company, we couldn't afford such a solution, and even if we could, we did not have enough web visitors to complete the optimization tests on a timely basis.

Realizing that 99% of all e-commerce companies were in the same boat, we decided to develop a technology that was tuned for the needs of such mid to small companies, i.e. a product that works for the rest of us.
