The automation development solutions provider Hosting Controller plans to implement the CloudLinux OS into its HC8 and HCnix control panels. The move aims at improving the performance, stability, and density of the control panels.
Hosting Controller, who currently supports operating systems such as Ubuntu, Fedora Core, Redhat Enterprise Linux, and Debian, decided to offer support for CloudLinux after the company who makes the OS, Cloud Linux, announced that its product is optimized for data center operators and web hosting providers.
HC8 and HCnix are both premiere web hosting automation control panel solutions; HC8 targets the reduction of operational costs, while the Linux-based HCnix allows users to manage multiple database, web, email, and DNS servers via a single interface.
Hosting Controller decided to implement CloudLinux because of both of its LVE (Lightweight Virtual Environment) technology which offers greater shared hosting stability, and of its solid security measures, such as the prevention of a single user from seeing the other users with whom he shares the server.
Babar Zaman of Hosting Controller explained that the upcoming support for CloudLinux is a natural step for the company, who always strives to offer innovative solutions to its users. He added that this move will give users the possibility to have access to the best technology around.
CloudLinux has already been adopted with success by other data center operators and web hosting providers, such as CirtexHosting and Canadian Web Hosting. The OS has been integrated into a number of software solutions as well, one of them being Ksplice’s Uptrack.
Igor Seletskiy of Cloud Linux stated recently that his company is excited that its OS will be implemented into Hosting Controller’s HC8 and HCnix solutions. He concluded that CloudLinux will permit admins to carefully control the usage of resources on a server and to increase the overall level of security in order to prevent attacks from hackers.
