Who am I?

I am a social media consultant and strategist who advises businesses on how to use social media to build relationships with their users and customers.  I help small, medium, and large businesses understand the various social media tools and strategies out there and how they can be leveraged for internal collaboration or for external communication/marketing/relationship building (or other business goals and objectives).   I also run a team of technical SEOs who provide advanced SEO strategy and recommendations to clients.  Our clients include companies such as Ancetry.com, Omniture, Doba.com, Salesforce, Coremetrics, and many others.  My thorough understanding of social media and SEO and how to integrate the two together makes for a very unique and valuable combination.

Previously, I was the CMO/founder of a startup in the social media space called Jamptu.  Jamptu was focused on creating and fostering communities and networks within condo buildings.  My role their included everything from creating a marketing strategy and building a community to designing and developing a product, establishing partnerships, and most importantly, building relationships (among many other things).

Prior to that I worked at a full service marketing agency where I helped lead search strategy for clients such as Adobe, Conde Nast, and Sandisk.  I am also the co-creator of Search Marketing Salon, which is a group dedicated to hosting events for entrepreneurs, social media strategists, SEOs, search marketers, and pretty much anyone involved in technology and marketing.

I have been recognized as a thought leader and influencer by Adage, Social Media Today, The Customer Collective, Online Marketing Connect, Lee Odden’s Big List of SEO Blogs, and by Guy Kawasaki’s Alltop.com (under social media and marketing).
