The Product Marketing Manager builds the strategic business and marketing plans in support of Canadian and American market share and revenue goals. The role oversees product marketing campaigns, product launches, and other related marketing initiatives. The Marketing Manager will recommend Marketing strategy and contribute to business development strategy around incremental growth opportunities based on local market conditions. The individual is the expert on local market, competitive and customer conditions, and is able to translate this knowledge into local strategy and execution plans.
Responsibilities:
Product Knowledge & Evangelism:
Serve as the internal and external spokesperson for the Marketing division of the company.
Evangelism includes press initiatives, public relations,seminars, solutions briefings, and promotion trade/industry events.Support the sales force as requested on special sales calls, customer briefings & sales readiness.
Have a deep understanding of the relevant product value to consumers.
Engage in personal continuous improvement and technical education, with the goal of developing product functionality competency.
Market, Competitive, and Customer Analysis & Strategy Development:
Have a deep understanding of the web and social marketing as you main role will be to drive customers to our transactional website. The
Marketing Manager is also familiar with a wide variety of digital online media including social media and SEO / SEM, as well as traditional media including voice, video and mobile.
Using primary and/or 3rd party research, continuously monitor, analyze & report on relevant competitors, customer & market data and trends.
Own and execute local competitive strategy.Actively contribute data, analysis, and strategic insights during mid-year review and planning process.
Participate in the revenue forecasting and analysis for the relevant products on a monthly basis.
Determine business development strategy, pricing and packaging requirements, and partner domain expertise requirements to seize local market opportunity.
Orchestration and Leadership:
Develop product strategy plans, goals and key metrics, including revenue & market share.
Lead all aspects of product launches, through the execution of a virtual team, including: internal readiness, partner readiness, demand generation, PR, local promotions, etc.
Engage effectively with HQ Product Marketing Group and other leading subsidiaries to learn from, and share with marketing programs, launches, campaigns, etc.
Based on product knowledge and experience, knowledge of the marketplace, and close communication with field sales teams regarding customer requirements, identify incremental growth/market development opportunities.
Marketing Delivery:
Develop and execute successfully execute annual strategic marketing plan and budget for relevant products.
Own and deliver content, positioning, and messaging for relevant products, ensuring that internal and external communications align with, and resonate with the target audience (e.?g.? Field Sales, Channel Partners, and Customers).
Manage marketing budgets to plan.? Maintain high degree of forecast accuracy.
Develop web messaging and online presence strategy.
Specific Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the attainment of revenue and market share.? This role is also responsible for the management, forecasting and responsible spend of the available marketing budget in support of revenue and market share attainment.
Builds visibility for the our products through broad evangelism, PR and participation at strategic events.
Provides tools, messaging and content to help the sales organization effectively position and sell.
Uses broad customer segment knowledge to build appropriate marketing mixes and maintain consistent messaging across multiple marketing efforts. Conveys customers' points of view regarding product improvements to corporate product management, product marketing and development teams.
Designs and manages marketing programs, including coordination and interactions with cross-discipline and cross-functional colleagues. Understands interdependencies between own responsibilities and accountabilities and the broader product/sales/marketing team. Creates quantitative frameworks to measure the impact and results of integrated marketing/sales/ product planning efforts.
Knows where competitors are taking their products from a strategic perspective and how it is likely to impact their development roadmap and feature set.? Contributes to the business strategy, pricing and packaging requirements, and partner domain expertise requirements to seize local market opportunity nationally and in the US.
Understands the business and strategies in interdependent areas and applies this knowledge to making good decisions.
Thinks ahead 6-12 months, recognizing trends and driving development of plans to take advantage of potential opportunities. Poses credible alternative scenarios for long-range plans relevant to the business in Canada and the US.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least 5-7 years of practical experience in product sales AND marketing with directly related experience. Strong understanding of Partner/?Indirect sales model required coupled with the ability to communicate to all level of partners and customers. A Bachelors Degree from a related discipline is required.
Technical Qualifications....?MUST HAVE
Experience with common Internet file transfer protocols like FTP, SSH / SFTP
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite software
One or more years experience in managing and supporting users on Microsoft based systems such as:
Active Directory, Exchange, Windows, and Microsoft Office
Demonstrated creative ability and artistic talent
Previous experience as a web or graphic designer.
