INNsight.com is an online search engine and booking marketplace for places to stay that efficiently connects property owners (INNkeepers) directly to travelers who are looking for the right place to stay at the lowest rates. Set up to operate much like a marketplace mashed up with a social network, INNsight.com aims to reboot the way travelers and INNkeepers interact and book their accommodations.
INNsight aims to deliver on the following promises:
- Gone will be the day where INNkeepers fret and complain about paying egregious commission rates that eat into their margins
- Lower transaction costs for selling rooms for INNkeepers will result in lower rates for Travelers
- Travelers will be able to more confidently book their accommodations. Lookers will become bookers by engaging in a rich media and social booking experience whereby they will know exactly where they will stay
Job Description
About the Position:
- We are searching for a Senior Full Time PHP developer with experience in PHP (Codeignitor preferred), MySQL, Javascript, XML, and a strong understanding of development processes, database architecture, load and performance, and is familiar with industry standards. The INNsight development team is responsible for creating the innovative search and booking marketplace called INNsight.com and its APIs which will support a collection of third-party applications. The breath of work that is involved at INNsight requires our developer candidates to be flexible and handle multiple projects concurrently, be independent and accountable to deliver major pieces of functionality on time. We work in a highly collaborative and fast paced environment and are looking for a candidate who is a quick learner and can hit the ground running. Inventiveness, curiosity, and a drive to go above and beyond and develop new and innovative products is the must have attitude.
Job Description
- Primary responsibilities will include architecting the software and developing the code that runs the INNsight platform. With major portions of the platform already built, our newest developers will be required to fully understand the platform and extend it in a multitude of ways to optimize and drive increased functionality
- This could include the development of iPhone and Android apps based on our APIs
- You will be expected to work in coordination with designers and project managers and completely manage the deliver of significant modules to the Core Servers where our website is hosted
Desired Profile
- Should have a minimum of 2 year experience in web development in a Unix based environment with strong knowledge of PHP (Codeignitor preferred)
- High level of data architecture and software design skills, creativity and a very strong understanding of load and performance
- Should have experience in coding environments such as Zend Studio, Unix, and some understanding of hardware in order to troubleshoot IT issues
- Should have very sound knowledge of HTML and CSS and the integration of PHP code alongside design elements
- Knowledge of XML/XSL will be crucial to working on our APIs
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and on multiple projects simultaneously, with minimum supervision
- Knowledge of SEO techniques and optimized design will be useful

- Knowledge of MVC Architecture & OOPS Concept will be added advantage
