The SEO/SEM specialist will be a key member of the events marketing team and the online community teams coordinating and executing inbound marketing strategies, SEO audit and assessment competitor analysis, keyword selection and research, internal and external link building, organic and paid campaign setup, producing actionable insight from analytics, SEO copywriting and on-page optimization. The right candidate will be pragmatic and analytical, with the ability to advise on technical and non-technical improvements to drive organic traffic to all events website and online community portals.
Responsibilities to include:
- Website Analysis: Review and analyse events websites and community portals; analytics is employed heavily to identify where improvements can be made
- Prepare detailed SEO strategy reports and ensure key decisions are backed by evidence
- Keyword Analysis, Research & Copywriting: In-depth knowledge of keyword research; includes knowing how to identify the least inexpensive, yet most profitable keywords – whether running a pay per click (PPC) campaign, or on-page optimisation to improve organic search results
- SEO Copywriting: This includes the aforementioned keyword research, as well as SEO writing guidelines, e.g., where to place keywords in copy so that it gets the most SE traffic, how to write effective headlines and how to write effective call-to-action statements
- Responsible for creating (or overseeing the creation) of original SEO content, in addition to implementing off-page SEO content strategies
- Creating link building strategies; implementing and tracking performance of link building campaigns to optimise results
- Search Engine Guidelines: Keeps abreast of white hat and black hat tactics so as not to run afoul of search engine guidelines
Required skills and competencies
- A minimum of 1-3 years of web experience is required.? Specific skills include knowledge of HTML; CSS; blogging platforms like wordpress; more advanced programming languages as needed; and MS Office
- The SEO specialist will also be expected to know the “language of SEO,” eg, organic search, PPC marketing, CTR, CPC, SEM, ROI, keyword density, long-tail keywords, etc
- CRM and/or enterprise software experience highly desirable
- Working knowledge of web interface design and multimedia
- Excellent SEO writing and editing skills
- Proven ability in the creation of quality web campaigns
- Possess critical thinking and analytical skills.? They should be able to readily identify problems and formulate practical solutions
- Communicates effectively at all levels
- Ability to work under pressure and independently under tight deadlines
Salary
- £30,000 - £35,000 basic plus OTE
