Looking for a Senior Frontend web Designer/web Developer to join a team based in London NW3. Your focus will be on frontend web design, usability (50%) and frontend web development (50%?).
Who are you?
You must be an experienced web designer/developer who will lead the creative development and technical implementation of our web design. You will have the creative flair to give the sites the look and feel for their respective audiences, and the technical know-how to code the design in our CMS.
You must be able to establish confidence in our business managers to produce designs which will deliver business objectives in a commercial environment and will have proven experience in the production of corporate and consumer facing websites, from conception through to completion.
Responsibilities include:
- Web design
o Lead design of all B2C and B2B sites – education and careers – working on existing products in Drupal CMS, and developing new products
o Full working understanding of the design process – from the initial visions, to creating UI wireframes, to producing a final design
o Working across our portfolio of products to identify, convey and show synergy in terms of look, feel and brand
- Web Development
o Implementing front end development and coding into CMS
o Working with the development team to integrate IT systems and databases into design
- Email/ direct marketing – designing templates and individual promotional emailers for our events, products and websites. You’ll be knowledgeable on best-practices for avoiding spam and generating click-throughs
- Accessibility – ensuring all design meets required web accessibility standards
- SEO – experience and understanding to incorporate SEO procedures into web design
Skill/attributes required
- Creative and innovative, able to design for varied audiences – excellent understanding of usability principles
- Excellent technical skills – XHTML, Javascript, AJAX, Flash, Actionscript
- Fluency in HTML and CSS is essential
- Good understanding of PHP and other programming languages
- Good understanding of web usability principles
- Workable knowledge of SEO – incorporating in to web design
- Experience working with a major commercial CMS –Drupal
- Effective time management, well organised and methodical
- Liaise with high level Business Product Managers
