Sportsfly, a Santa Monica Online Game Company seeks an exceptionally motivated, capable, and driven DIRECTOR OF ONLINE MARKETING and Business Development to help efficiently acquire new website members and once acquired retain them through user experience.
As Director of Marketing, you will work with game production, sales and marketing teams as well as third parties to help drive awareness and grow our member base. Key to this role will be the development and execution of initiatives that drive member acquisition and are both creative and cost-efficient. These initiatives will include the development of an affiliate referral network, search engine marketing, online acquisition partnerships, social network programs, and special strategic online business development.
Although the ideal candidate will have experience managing an online business and operating at a strategic level, he/she will have no problems rolling up the sleeves to execute project components. The ideal candidate will have experience managing consumer websites, be highly analytical, have strong written and verbal communication skills, be experienced in negotiations, be detail-oriented and hands-on, and be comfortable with a fast-moving dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Business Development: Strategically prospect and execute new partnership opportunities to increase website acquisition and revenue. Search Engine Marketing: Manage and execute SEO & PPC strategies, including but not limited to strategic direction, keyword management and expansion, keyword bid optimization, ad copy creation, custom landing pages, competitive research and onsite optimization. Affiliate Marketing: Create affiliate program by developing and implementing affiliate promotions to increase output of affiliates actively producing revenue. Perform research to devise opportunities for expansion. Email Campaigns: Input of HTML code, uploading of graphics, setup of trackable URLs, etc. Deploy and evaluate test emails to a variety of email providers to ensure quality. Optimize email graphics as needed. Monitor bounce back procedures and ensure proper cleansing of database. Maintain email standards including opt-in/out processes, email size, HTML format, etc. Creative: Concepts for new and existing website pages and features. Help in the creation of banner ads, including image editing, optimization and adhering to web design constraints. Ability to create electronic files to provide to our partners. Support departmental needs and help produce other creative assets as needed. Reporting: Provide updated performance stats on a weekly and monthly basis, and upon request. Must be experienced with Omniture Site Catalyst & Google Analytics. Finance & Budget: Create and manage marketing budgets, forecasts and ROI.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years relevant internet marketing experience with proven track record. Solid understanding of search engine marketing, including hands on experience managing and optimizing SEO. Sound knowledge of the internet industry landscape, internet-based business models and online performance based marketing vehicles. Strong attention to detail, self starter, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Analytical and problem solving skills demonstrating the ability to understand key performance metrics and ability to execute against findings. Strong computer skills, including Photoshop, Microsoft Office and Dreamweaver. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
