PPC Competition Sample Questions

Below are questions that can be used to determine your firm’s PPC competency. The questions are divided by phases and are strictly a sampling.

All Phases – Customer Satisfaction

  1.  Overall, how satisfied are you with the service you received?
  2.  What degree of confidence did you have in the knowledge/professionalism of the staff member(s) who provided the service?
  3.  How courteous, attentive, prompt, and caring was/were the staff member(s) who provided the service?
  4.  Should the need arise, would you use this/these service(s) again?
  5.  How could staff have served you better?

Phase 1 – Depth of Knowledge

  1. How does the entrant monitor the PPC campaigns actively and perform the client’s bid adjustments?
  2. How does the entrant improve click-through-rates?
  3. What techniques does the entrant utilize to lower cost per conversion?
  4. What steps does the entrant take to ensure the client doesn’t infringe on any trademarks?

 Phase 2 – Reporting Methods

  1. What types of reports do you produce to indicate client budget management and analysis?  How comprehensive, and specific are the reports that are offered to the client?  What metrics do they cover?
  2. How often are reports generated for the client and do the reports indicate an honest improvement or worsening of progress since the start of the client relationship?
  3. Are the PPC campaign reports useful and easy to understand? 

Phase 3 – Internal Principles

  1. Is the entrant actively involved in PPC for their own online presence?
  2. Employee training and development efforts such as achievements of various certification programs.

Phase 4 – Competitive Advantages

  1. Does the entrant offer any creative ways to charge for the PPC service that would give the entrant an advantage?
  2. Has the entrant won awards / recognized for achievements that gives the entrant a competitive advantage?
  3. Does the entrant have any patents or trademarks?
  4. Does the entrant have any proprietary processes that would give the entrant a unique edge?
