Overview
This hands-on course will help you get to grips with three of the leading social networks used in a business and corporate context – Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. The course aims to help you see through the hype and understand how to set-up and use each network and comprehend the best uses for each.
This is an introductory course that anybody could attend – there are no pre-requisites with regards to prior knowledge, job title or level of seniority. If you are looking to you use social media in any professional capacity, then this course will ensure that you:
• Understand what social media is and how they can use it to identify and capitalise on business opportunities
• Get started immediately with quick wins
• Learn from examples of best practice and real world case studies of how organisations have successfully implemented social media into their fundamental business practices
• Put a structure around social media projects to ensure long term success aligned to a firm’s overall strategy
Attendees are asked to bring a laptop with them for use during the course.
Masterclass leader: Kathryn Corrick
Kathryn Corrick is an independent digital media communications consultant and strategist with over ten years experience in digital and social media. She combines her knowledge of online publishing, marketing and the creative industries with an understanding of trends, business, emerging technologies and public policy.
As a consultant her clients have included large corporates, organisations, SMEs and start-ups from the likes of McCann Erickson and Handbag.com to online social businesses such as the mentoring site Horses Mouth. She is a visiting lecturer in online journalism at Westminster University and is a trainer in digital marketing.
