Overview
This masterclass will enable delegates to understand how new technologies and new business models both enable and require novel ways of supporting work within organisations; delegates will come away understanding both why and how social media can be used within organisations, as well as how to establish good governance and promote long (and short) term profitability and sustainability. This masterclass is geared towards individuals looking to better understand why they need social media and intranets and how they can implement collaborative systems in the most efficient way possible.
Masterclass leader: Dion Lindsay
Dion Lindsay is an experienced knowledge management consultant, knowledge manager, writer and trainer. Dion Lindsay Consulting Ltd of which he is principal consultant and Director, is often consulted on knowledge sharing and collaboration strategies by large charities, membership organisations and his courses are attended by the both the public and private sectors. Dion has over 20 years worth of experience working in information and knowledge management in the public and 3rd sectors.
Dion is the editor of the Intranets column for Elucidate: the UKeiG's e-journal for emerging topics in electronic information, and in 2011 has been running courses in the popular Intranet Roadmap Workshop series. He is also executive editor of the Ark Group's report "How to make Business Intelligence Work for You", published earlier this summer. He is a Trustee of CILIP, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, and a past member of its ICT and Web design Programme Board and Framework for Qualifications and Accreditation Steering Group.
He is a trained and very experienced workshop facilitator and has run more than 25 high level workshops and courses over the last 6 years, both in-house for clients and in the public domain.
