Dishonest Rip off

Feedback:

Update! 12/1/17 I received a few crank calls and a threatening text message from Jeff Butler. Threatening legal action if I don't comply and delete this review. I worked here for several months in 2015 both in the office and on the road for several events. Probably the most horrific few months of my entire life. (A little about me I'm a military veteran with bachelors degrees in both audio and video production). They work you hard for each event because they don't want to hire people and ruin their profit. So you're always undermanned. We went to Texas from Rhode Island for a show. They notified me the day before the trip that I would do 100% of the driving with two other grown men in a gigantic truck I had never driven before. What they did was so illegal I tried to report them but the loop hole was that on the road trips I was considered a private contract so I couldn't sue. I should have received money per mile plus an additional flat rate stipend but they refused. I got the same or probably less than the other two guys who have no degrees and no drivers licenses. They forced me to drive till I was about to pass out. Sleep on the floor in a Grimey hotel room.... yea even tho there were 3 of us I had to sleep on the floor multiple times because they Insane owners wouldn't spring for more than 1 room. And these were the cheapest hotel in each town we stayed at. Never paid me for food or expenses. That's 14 hours a day driving by one person. Out of pocket food and expenses. They complained I used too much gas and took too long driving halfway across the country basically alone. Both other drivers had suspended licenses. Two grown men that couldn't drive. They just slept the whole trip Way more, they allowed two employees to drop N bombs both at the office and on the road. The other employee in the office(only 2 beside the secretary) consistently dropped N bombs. Told me that black people don't know to leave the hood. Whether you believe that or not it's not a workplace conversation. The incident that was reported to the mangers was an incident that occurred when one of the two suspended licenses losers got into an altercation in New Orleans screaming the N word throughout the streets. After we got to San Antonio it was more horrific work conditions. After I completed the drive from Rhode Island to San Antonio i was forced to unpack the entire truck with one other individual. This truck was packed with thousands of pounds of equipment! It's like 2am and we have to work at 6am but with no other crew waiting we had to do it. We set up an entire Hilton Hotel(several conference rooms and the large convention center). So basically no sleep and back to a 14 hour shift for the morning. I was so distraught when I was done setting up that I tried to buy a plane ticket home. I toughed it out just to be short changed in my check when I got back to Rhode Island. Side note! There were so many people(customers and exemployees)that left 1 star reviews that I went through them all removing the reviews from here. They all said what I'm saying. I was just too blind to see at the time. I didn't want potential customers to see what people had said and decline my over the phone sale... You're cold calling around the country trying to steal someone else's event. It's been two years and the pain from working here is still present. I would never work here again but they never called me again so that's that. They knew no human being would do that twice. Use you, underpay you and delete you. The managers are lunatics. I've had to hang up on customers multiple times cuz the owners got into a screaming match in the office. Just a bunch of crooks

Feedback:

They are a bunch a drama queens an they screw everybody over Jeff butler is the cheapest prick alive McDonald's pays people more there equipment is all old an dirty there workers are all lazy don't hire them there rip offs

Feedback:

Terrible company to work for, they scam you on your pay weekly then get mad when you question them. They over work you for minimal pay and you get talked down to and lied to constantly.

Feedback:

Great company who work hard all over the country. They can make events happen at a fraction of the price of most over-charging AV companies, but still with amazing quality. They have been doing this a long time and know what they are doing.

Feedback:

Never got paid for a completed Job. Did a show for FDLI group in December of 2016 at the Mayflower in Washington DC. We provided all the AV and our employees. They claimed the client didn't pay them and in result we will not be paid. We never signed a contract stating we work on contengencies. Unfourtuanly we've taken it upon ourselves to let the industry know of the unethical business practices of Mike Hackett and Jeff Butler. Research this company before you conduct business with them. There's a lot of complaints about this company not paying or low balling techs and company's. Google Jeff Butler of Eprav. If there was a way to give no stars I would. Stay far away, come to Global Audio Visual for your production needs.
