I had a simple land purchase in the summer of 2016. The closing was supposed to be in the middle of the month. It was over a week later. We finally met to sign the papers and were told that the seller was not available to sign their documents and would sign them the following Monday. After signing the papers and surrendering our funds, we proceeded to sign a building contract and clear the land. ELEVEN DAYS later we were contacted by our Realtor, NOT WACO, that there was a problem with the sale. Apparently, the person attempting to sell the land did not have clear ownership of the land. Our funds were tied up for over a month while ownership of the land was attempting to be cleared up. Ultimately, we terminated the agreement. At no time during this entire debacle did anyone from Waco Title contact me to explain what happened, apologize, or provide a plan as to what they were going to do to fix the problem. I have since purchased another piece of property in the Bella Vista area and asked our Realtor to use any other Title Company. I will never use Waco Title again.
