Client Review on 906 Technologies

Feedback:

NOTE: This is a review of their device repair services, not their website services of which I am a happy customer. If i could leave two separate reviews I would, instead i have to split the difference and give 2 stars based on what would be a 4 star review for their web services, and a 0 star (if possible) review of their device repair services.Brought in an iPad for a tiny screen crack, not even on the main part of the screen, just in the screen bezel. Other than that, ipad worked fully. This was a basically brand new iPad, purchased in 2018 (6th generation iPad) with a crack in the corner that impacted nothing. It took 906Tech 4 months and multiple attempts to fix this and the issues they created along the wayFirst they repaired it and the home button did not adhere properly so when pressed it slipped under the screen like it wasn't attached to anything, just loose in the iPad. This was pickup attempt #1. While trying to fix that they damaged the board in the iPad and had to send it off for "micro soldering" repair to another company which took a few weeks. I went to pickup the device and the home button still did not adhere correctly and had the same issue as before, so they had to re-open it to fix it. This was pickup attempt #2Brought me in to see it and the the iPad wasn't sealed properly, there was a huge gap on one side. This was pickup attempt #3They repaired that but then the digitizer on the screen didn't work the next time I was brought in to pickup the device and they had to order a new screen and replace it again. This was pickup attempt #4.Finally, they got everything working and I was able to pick it up months after I dropped it off. Without its original home button however, so now TouchID will never work on this device. Oh and we have to pay for all of their screw ups along the way, so their original quote to repair the screen for $175 has ballooned to over $300 on a device that costs $459 and was basically brand new, and fully functioning when we brought it into them. 0/10, will not bring them a device again. I'd sooner try doing the repair myself than bring it to them. We can get better faster service directly from Apple and anyone with an Apple device. I'd recommend trying that first, and only use 906Tech as a last resort.FYI, Best Buy can do Apple repairs now too and they can actually use genuine Apple parts which 906Tech does not.
