Client Review on Acro Media

Overall experience wasn't terrible when dealing with the individual team members, but the work ended up not matching what I was sold in the beginning. I contacted Acro since they developed the Drupal Commerce distribution package and thought they would know best on how to install this distribution without issues and minimal time. I needed them to install unto Pantheon hosting site. I was told that I needed to purchase 10 hours upfront but that this job would leave me with "tons of extra time" that I could use later for tweaks or consulting. They got my project to the tech department quickly which was nice and I clarified the final project with someone who was supposed to have plenty of experience with Pantheon. There was no update to the number of billable hours. The project stalled for a week and a half and I recontacted Acro. It project was then assigned to another technician, and after another week and a half was finally completed. When I wanted to clarify how many hours the project took, this tech said it used 9.5 and my last request would use the remaining half an hour. The final request was for Acro to install the OpenEdu distribution with Commerce module attached on two seperate intalls with Pantheon, so identical intalls. This project ended up taking 3 wks and cost me $2000 (10hr at $200/hr). When I raised my objection to the lack of communication about the billed hours the project manager only gave the suggestion that we could start with smaller chuncks of time. I will be taking my money to a company that values it more in the future.
