First of all the service was amazing!!! The hostess seated us right away and Jennifer our server was great and attentive. It was raining so someone had the idea to make soup and it was one of the best chicken soup ever!! Our cheese board and main entree were also outstanding. And don't forget the tres leches cake we had for dessert. Definitely a favorite.

Came back yesterday since I was told the new owner was the same as Cafe Rule. I was hoping for a better experience than the last couple times I went, however nothing has changed. I ordered the hominy avocado salad and there wasn’t any avocado on the salad. The bartender went back and asked the kitchen, who then said the avocados weren’t fresh so they didn’t put them in the salad. Would’ve been nice to know before they served me a salad with only chickpeas and tomatoes on it. They instead offered me a free dessert- which I declined. They did try to charge me for the salad, but took it off when I asked. The bartender was nice, however he was not prepared for his job. It was his first day so we cut him some slack, but you have to know your drinks if you’re working behind the bar. There was no IPA beer at the bar, not in bottle or tap- I guess they “blew the keg” last night... it’s the weekend, there should be IPA beer. Last time we came there were certain staple items behind the bar that were empty as well. This restaurant has potential as the venue is nice, but I guess there’s a reason that this large establishment is always empty- it lacks in many areas and is just too expensive to keep visiting hoping they got it right this time. I will not be visiting again.

very nice restaurant, with plenty of space (tables arent packed together), quiet enough to hold a conversation. clean, and staff were very attentive. food was great, with a nice twist on typical plates. ingredients and draft beers are locally sourced, and it all made for a great experience. would recommend, 👍

Had our son's rehearsal dinner here. We had about 30 in their event room and another 20 in the main restaurant. The food was wonderful. Jennifer was great to work with. I was extremely happy with how things turned out.

Great ambience, so much to choose from on the menu. Burgers, steaks, oysters, lobster, flounder etc. Delicious wines! Service probably could have been better but the best restaurant in Hickory!!!
