The photos and video were by far the most expensive part of our destination wedding, but I was okay with spending such a large amount because I wanted the photos to be perfect. We ended up with Sherri Barber as our photographer, and it was as if it was her first time using a camera. So much of our special day was wasted as she tried to get her equipment ready to take a picture. Many of our guests complained about her speed and having to stand in the hot sun while she fumbled with her camera. Not only was she painfully slow, she didn't even get the main photos that you would expect to receive. No picture of the steel drum player, no picture of the ceremony set-up, no picture of the cake/sign-in table, no picture of the centerpieces, no picture of the head table, no first look picture like I was promised, I could go on and on and on......At one point in the evening she took my new husband and I down to the beach for sunset photos (as planned). She asked that we walk away from her down the beach, stop and kiss, and then walk back. She wanted to get a picture of this. So my husband and I walked down the beach, and he dipped me and kissed me! He had never done this before, and everyone on the beach watching us cheered! It was such a special moment, and I could not wait to see the picture. Shockingly enough, Sherri claimed that she didn't get the picture. Even though she was the one who instructed us to do it!!!!!There is not even a picture of my husband and I standing under the alter together. My experience with Chi Photography was absolutely heartbreaking. Those are moments that I can never get back, from the most special day of our lives. When I wrote to Paul Chi to complain, he copied in Sherri so that she could see what I had written, and said that I should talk with her about it. Sherri then proceeded to send me a nasty email back stating that I was wrong and that she thought she did a great job. I ignored her email and went back to Paul. I was shocked that the owner of the company would forward a complaint to the photographer, allow her to send a nasty reply, offer no apologies, and make no attempt to right the situation. At the end of the day, I ended up with a handful of "free prints". Considering the thousands upon thousands I spent on the photography services, I would have expected better service than what I received. Chi Photography is supposed to be one of the best options out there. DON'T FALL FOR IT!! I have been kicking myself since our wedding day for not just buying my coworker a ticket (who is also a photographer on the side) and having her do our photos. It would have been 100 times better than our experience working with Chi Photography. DO NOT LET THEM RUIN YOUR SPECIAL DAY!!
