Fantastic venue. This was such a unique space for a live performance I attended called "See/Saw: An Immersion into a Magician's Mind" in downtown LA that was co-produced by Atlas Obscura and Siegfried Tieber. Siegfried Tieber is a riveting performer and I highly recommend attending one of his shows. In true Atlas Obscura form, the entrance to the show was discretely tucked away in the corner of a parking lot just 2 blocks from Grand Central Market. Self-service parking is inexpensive at just $6 for the evening. Once my husband and I checked-in with a staff member, we climbed a small set of candlelit stairs that led to a large studio space with exposed brick walls. There is a tiny staffed bar that was lit by strung Edison bulbs throughout the space. There were only 26 seats at this special close-up prestidigitation (sleight of hand) performance, so it was an exciting way to experience a unique art form. Support local theatre and see what Civic Center Studios has going on throughout the year!Pro Tips:- No food service, so grab a bite to eat at the Grand Central Market before a show- Bring cash to tip the bartenders
