We have used CMIT Solutions of Greater Poughkeepsie and Greater Danbury extensively for the past 8 years. CMIT Solutions manages our network, computers and servers, does our daily backup,resolves any issues that come up. They let us know about impending problems and issues and suggest fixes BEFORE they become a big problem. We have many hundreds of customers who depend on us on a daily basis. With CMIT Solutions' IT support we have had great 8 years of smooth operation and no problems whatsoever.
Feedback:
I hired CMIT to install an encryption solution on my network in 2015 and provide annual updates. They installed a system of software and hardware to protect my data. In late 2017 there was some issue with the Windows 10 Creators update that was being hindered by the encryption software, and I made the difficult decision to remove the software to allow the Windows 10 to update. In the process, two of our desktop computers became disabled and had to be replaced because they would no longer boot. CMIT attempted to decrypt our laptop, and ended up locking the hard drive requiring it to be reformatted -- and then sent me a bill for over $700 for taking my working laptop, disabling it, and then to reformat the drive and reinstall the windows 10 software. In the process of all of this, I learned that the system I was sold did not work as presented -- The software is top notch (other than hinder the windows 10 updates) but the hardware that they sold me and left hooked up to my to my computer served no purpose. Bottom line, despite being nice people, I'm left disappointed in their service for selling me a system that didn't work with my network, not being able to resolve the issue with Windows 10, and taking a working laptop and make it non functional, only to charge me $700 to restore it to a condition less than they found it in. When I received the bill, I disputed it to no resolve, and reluctantly paid it. I don't dispute the time and effort they put into it, just their ability to resolve an issue relating to their product and area of expertise, which ultimately cost over $4000 in new hardware, software, and tech support to get my business back up and running.
