Overall Feedback:
I know Yelp is about reviews, but my review is a little different. I worked for Dijifi as a “freelance digitalization technician” so basically I worked in the photo department which is managed by the photo manager Carlos Guzman. It’s a Pretty straight forward job from what I was assigned which was : scanning 5x7s and up personal photographs from clients wanting to digitalize their old photographs. I was given 3 very old pc computers to work on with flat bed epson scanners , standing the whole time shifting from computer to computer. Whenever I worked it was maybe 2 or 3 other techs plus Carlos there. The work environment outside of the photo department is so much easy going and stress free than working in the photo department. Carlos is very distant, he doesn’t say much he only speaks when spoken to or asked questions. The first half of the day he has us listening to politics on the radio, but all of us usually have our own headphones and listen to music while working independently. Nobody really talks to each other at work, I think because it starts from Carlos, he doesn’t make his staff feel comfortable. We all just work and get our job done because of the simplicity of the job and because we don’t want to look like we aren’t working. My last week at Dijifi which was unexpected for me, was totally the weirdest week. Carlos was acting very strange with me. I was given a large project 3 weeks prior to my last week of 6,500+ images to scan. I worked 3 days a week 10am-3:30pm ( Wednesday , thursday, Friday ) and I managed to finish all those images in 8 working day on my assigned days of work just working 5hours a day with no break or anything. The project due date was August 1st, 2019 and I finished June 27th. While I was working on the project the final week I was working on it, Carlos kept asking me when will I be finished , which I took as me speeding up my work even though I was way ahead of schedule. The final day of work he approached me about finger prints on the scanner which he spoke to me as if I was his child. Telling me and even showing me how to use a paper towel and windex to wipe the machine as if I never seen windex or a paper towel in my life. It kinda of left a sour taste in my mouth but I proceeded to finish my work which I finished before my shift ended. I was extra careful while I worked and even cleaned the whole station which other people don’t do but I did it out of respect, I let Carlos know I was finish and he said “ok , I will find out from Jim if it’s any more work for you” which it was but I had a feeling he was going to snake me. Anyway, today is Monday and I received an email from Carlos saying: [ see attached images ]-- I myself a working family man think this is totally uncalled for an unprofessional for a manager to treat me in such a way. Regardless if I was a freelancer, a temp, part or full time worker I did not deserve that kind of treatment from a company I took my time, effort and professionalism to do my job. I hope whoever read this would see that regardless if Digifi get the job done, you guys are putting your hard earn money into a company that is not respecting its employees. We work on our feet the whole time processing these images while working under a manager that has no consideration for his staff. I can’t speak for other departments, but for the photo department this is what we are around.
