This place is great! It really shouldn’t have taken me this long to write a review. Around thanksgiving last year I decided I wanted to get some old home videos and mp8 tapes digitized for my mom for Christmas. I had originally planned on using a mail in service but I was very nervous about mailing off my precious home videos (even though I had no idea what was on them) and also it turned out that is would take much longer to get them back and I wouldn’t have them on Christmas. By chance while searching for options I came across a search ad for current pixel (money well spent guys!) and decided to shoot them a note on a whim to get an estimate and see if they could get them done in time. I got a response back that night - on Black Friday! With various quotes since I wasn’t specific and saying they could get the job done. I immediately roped my brother in to searching for the home videos discreetly at my parents house. We finally found the old cam corders and what we thought were the old tapes but none were labeled. Current pixel assured me if the tapes were blank or tv recordings they wouldn’t charge me. I brought the tapes in and was given an estimate that they’d be ready the Friday before Christmas. They man who took my tapes was very kind and helpful and made me feel like my tapes were safe and in good hands. 2 days later my brother called to tell me he found the real video stash and the ones I brought were likely all blank tapes. I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to swap the tapes or get them back in time and sent a panicked email. They responded quickly and let me know it was no big deal and I could swap the tapes. I brought the correct ones the very next day on a Friday but they had said I could have waited until the next week if I needed to. They were very kind and understanding again and gave me back the blank tapes. My order was ready a day or so earlier than originally promised and I received all my original tapes back in perfect condition. On Christmas morning I played one of the tapes for my family of a Christmas morning over 20 years ago and everyone was so happy to be watching it and my mom was crying with joy- wouldn’t trade it for anything! The service is definitely not cheap and if you have the time I’d recommend buying your own drive to put the files on but it was well worth it to me and they did a great job. I’d certainly go back again.

Elaine digitized precious recordings of a deceased relative from old cassette tapes. Unfortunately the tapes had been reused, and there was obtrusive background noise from a prior voice recording. She returned to the master files and profoundly improved them by eliminating the background noise. I judge the service provided to be well worth the expense.

Had a precious memory on an old BETACAM tape....another highly recommended company I heard about on Rush Limbaugh could not convert this media and I didn't learn this until I received their package back with two other typical VHS conversions. Was really bummed until I found these folks in Sandy Springs (Atlanta) GA. Not only did they convert it to DVD for me, they kept me up-to-date every step of the way. Believe me, they have all MY future business and anyone else I can recommend!!!

Current Pixel did an excellent job transferring 30+ reels of 8 mm film to digital files. If you ever get the urge to do this type of work on your own, save yourself the time and effort and get the transfers done professionally. The finished product is worth it.
