Client Review on Frielings Agricultural Equipment

Feedback:

I'd first like to state I purchased a 2007 Peterbilt 379 from them approximately 3 weeks ago. I had the truck delivered to my home address about one week after that. I've had some time to digest my purchase and not speak out of emotion. I'll start with what I feel was done well by Frieling's. The financing department was very helpful and knowledgeable, as well as the sales staff. I purchased the truck about 15 hours away, so I had them deliver it. The delivery was done very timely, and I thought outwardly, the truck appeared like it did in the photos online. Now the bad. I purchased the truck without looking at it, given that I lived 15 hours away. I also signed their non-warranty disclosure stating they don't cover any issues that may arise. Tyler was a nice salesman, and I'm sure it's challenging to describe every detail of a truck over the phone. With that being said, after it arrived, there was a long host of issues with the truck, none of which were mentioned by the sales staff. Oil pan seal was leaking, A/C coolant was empty, as well as 2 fittings were bad, power steering supply line was cracked and leaking, wet kit input hoses leaking heavily underneath, tilt wheel was broken, dash wouldn't turn off, causing battery to die, couple of coolant rubber fittings had cracks, causing coolant to leak. Among all these, the dash also displayed in kilometers, not miles. Of all these items, the A/C bothered me the most, given that it was advertised as "Excellent" on their website. All these items I would have likely gone through with the deal regardless. It would just have been very appreciated if even half of these issues would have been mentioned. I didn't expect new, and I know I took risk by not seeing it in person myself. I've purchased used items before, but I've certainly not had this many items overlooked before.I'm not accusing Frieling's of being intentionally dishonest or deceitful. Maybe their warranty disclosure is their way of stating their items have flaws that will need attention. I'm not sure. I'm satisfied with the truck, and I don't believe it was grossly misrepresented. I just would have appreciated a few more of the flaws mentioned, and above all else that the A/C would have really been in "excellent" shape as stated, rather than non-functional and needing parts and labor. I wouldn't avoid doing business with them, and I wouldn't be afraid of doing business with them if the right item came around. I would certainly be more inquisitive and detailed oriented when asking them about an item going forward.
