B&H ripped me off and they’re hiding it.I purchased an ikan PT4700 teleprompter system and when it arrived, I immediately realized that it wasn’t what I ordered. This is a $2000 item, so it was a substantial cost. At first, I wasn’t worried because I’ve always been happy with B&H in the past. Because I operate a video production company, we’ve spent thousands and thousands of dollars with them over the years. I called them and made them aware of the problem and was shocked by their response. They told me that since I opened the box, the item was non-returnable. I explained that opening the box was the only way to discover the mistake. I literally opened it, looked at it and then put it back in the box. All the parts are still wrapped in plastic and were never removed from the box. They told me to call ikan and notify them for help. In the end, both companies gave me the brush off. They would not let me return the product or exchange it for the right teleprompter system. I feel like I’ve been robbed. Further, I feel that both of these companies have betrayed my confidence and stole my money. I tried to write a negative review of the ikan PT4700 teleprompter with an explanation of why, on the B&H website. Three times, I posted my review and they removed it each time. It seems that they are hiding my experience from other customers. Don’t fall into the same trap that I did. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with these dishonest tactics. Both of these companies seem to be ok with a dissatisfied customer, now stuck with a $2000 mistake. Buyer beware if you buy one of these Teleprompters. Apparently they do not have much confidence in their product and have little interest in customer satisfaction.
