I was employed with a company here in Lynchburg, Va for two weeks until I resigned last week. Employees in the work place were complaining of not being paid for hours worked and not being given pay stubs for correct verification of hours. There is no access to electronic pay stubs online. I had an issue with the manager of the job last Monday after I noticed she emailed workers their payroll hours worked. I noticed that mine were incorrect and brought it to her attention. I also asked about pay stubs and It was overlooked. Today I got my first paycheck, only it was nothing but a cashiers check with out a pay stub. My check was incorrect and it seemed as though I was missing $100.00. I brought it to the attention of a few higher ups and I was told that I would not be given a pay stub because they did not have to. I do not know what deductions were taken from my check, I know what hours I worked because I carefully documented everything. By law I know that I am supposed to have a pay stub or access to one and they have not been giving them for months apparently. I have filed a charge with the NLRB and called the local VEC. I am also taking further actions. I have all documentation and emails if needed. I have filed a BBB complaint as well. Court actions are next, especially if my final check is incorrect.
