BUYER BEWARE: Oversold - Couldn’t Deliver - Unreasonable after

What would you change about the experience?
I paid Iron forge over $55k. Because of poor project management and inability they were not able to help get past the design phase. Bringing in people with technical understand or industry specific understanding earlier would have saved me a massive amount of time and money and may have given us a chance to actually progress writing code.
Overall Feedback:
We paid Iron Forge $899 to scope out our project. During this process we shared our vision and example sites. We shared a universe of the features we wanted and the quality of example sites (including graph examples). Of the 3 people that were involved at this stage, none of them were involved 12 months later and at least 2 of the 3 had left Iron Forge completely. Based on that process they presented us with a design and development proposal with a fixed pricing of approximately $155,000. They suggested it would take 6-9 months to complete our project. I never got the sense that their project management resources understood our project, it wasn’t clear what they did during most of our calls but they were generally inactive. We worked with a designer that was the only bright spot of the project. The project manager never brought in any technical people to help the designer understand what was practical.
