Client Review on Joye Law Firm

Feedback:

On September 29th, 2014, I fell of a ladder at work and hurt my head and neck.  When arriving by ambulance to the ER, I found out the medical costs would be filed under workman's compensation insurance.  I was not familiar with this type of insurance but was relieved there would be no out of pocket expense.  The following week I experienced dizziness and fell at home in the kitchen, requiring two additional trips to the ER over the next few days.  Again, this was related to the head and neck injury so the claim was filed under workman's comp.      During this week, my husband and I started dealing with the workman's comp insurance claims services provider handling my claim.  We quickly realized this provider was much different than our personal health insurance provider.  For example, they would call me late on a Friday afternoon and demand medical records from my primary physician, giving 24 hours for me to produce them.  When my husband tried to contact them, asking for more time, they would not respond.  When emailing them for information on a path forward for treatment, the answers would be vague if they bothered to answer at all.  It felt as though they were passive-aggressively trying to discourage me from continuing with the claim.  Add to this my head and neck pain and it was simply becoming impossible for me to deal with them.       At this point, my husband and I decided to seek help.  After looking around on the internet and reading reviews, we decided on attorney Davis Rice with Joye Law firm.  The BEST decision we could have made.  Within a few days, I had an appointment with a neurologist and treatment was under way.  Because the nature of my injury involved possible impacts on the brain, several tests had to be scheduled and performed.  My case took nearly 3 years to complete because of the potential for brain trauma associated with the fall.  I had to exhaust all avenues of testing and treatment to reach my "Maximum Medical Improvement."  Mr. Rice and his para legal Marcie, on numerous occasions had to contact the workman's compensation claims service provider on my behalf.  Most of the time to get treatment authorized after the doctor would order it and the claims services provider would originally decline.  This process would have been a nightmare if I didn’t have Mr. Rice and his staff taking care of this.       Many workman’s compensation related injuries are not as complicated as mine, where those affected will heal up and settle the case quicker than 3 years.  My case was complicated and without Mr. Rice there would have been no way we could have come through the past 3 years with the outcome we have now.  Without going into too many details, I will need medicine and pain related treatment for what could be the rest of my life.  Mr. Rice negotiated a VERY favorable financial settlement for us to be confident we can cover any related out of pocket expenses.         Believe me when I tell you, the workman's compensation insurance claims services provider system does not care about anything but the bottom line.  You need an experienced attorney to deal with these claims services providers.  Please do NOT go this alone.  It is unnecessary and will be unproductive.       Davis Rice of Joye Law Firm and his staff are highly competent and very experienced with workman's compensation related injuries.  Not to mention they are so easy to work with and really care about their clients.  I would highly recommend Mr. Davis to anyone injured at work!
