Client Review on Kelowna Boat Rentals

My family from the UK and I travelled to Kelowna and decided to book with this company. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I usually never leave any review(s) but found it necessary to share what happened on September 17, 2018. We signed all of the paperwork, loaded 11 people on the boat, and were provided with instructions on how to use the boat. My cousin has used this company multiple times and is aware on how to drive a boat. It had only been five minutes and the front of our boat STARTED SINKING. We had 6 people on the boat that did not know how to swim. The panic on everyones face is something that I will never forget. My cousin was somehow able to prevent the boat from sinking as she had hit the gas rather than wait to let the boat sink. We called Tom, the individual who set the boat up for us. He had been pulled over by the police, hence the reason why there had been a delay for him to reach the dock immediately. We kept close to the shallow part of the water to avoid sinking. As soon as Tom reached the dock he advised that I contact the owner and explain what had happened. I contacted her to only find her laughing at me and telling me that I acted like I knew more about the boat than she did. Also, she mentioned that she had rented this boat over 1000 times and has never heard of something like this happen. She continued talking and explained that it's unfortunate that my family was scared of what had happened and that it was probably because of the weight. SHE DID NOT CARE NOR DID SHE BELIEVE ME!!! I told her that we will like to be refunded as my family could have died. She had the audacity to tell me that we will not be fully refunded because she has labor to pay and that we were responsible for the compensation. She called Tom and told him to take the boat out to see what was going on. My crazy family decided to sit with Tom as they were convinced that the boat would not sink. Guess what? Tom accelerated and the boat started sinking AGAIN. Everyone explained that he looked shocked himself and started to take pictures of the boat from the front. He confirmed that something was wrong with the boat as it appeared to be way too low than usual, and that the weight was not an issue. He contacted management, loaded the boat, and then refunded us in full. The owner is incompetent, lacks professionalism skills, and is in denial. Do NOT EVER laugh at anyone and try to consider that not everyone is a liar. She never called us back to apologize about being wrong and the tragic event that we just went through because of her boat. I will NEVER book with this company. We are so LUCKY that no one had been hurt throughout this event. Tom, thank-you for being professional and having such great customer service skills - the owner of the boat can learn a few skills from you.
