Feedback:

This agency is completely out of sync in today's world. From antiquated systems and beliefs, to enabling a hostile work environment (I was asked by everyone on the Exec Team during my interviews if I could 'hold my ground in meetings') - meaning, could I actively speak over everyone in the room so I could be heard. Little did I know that everyone there has an opinion, expects to be heard, and will rant and yell until they are. Even in emails if you didn't hear them yell it in the meeting. And that's not even the worst of the awful behavior. I'm a working mother (and worked there for 8 mos), and was shamed - both publicly in front of colleagues, and in one-on-one meetings with my boss - about having to leave at 4pm three days/week to pick my son up from daycare. This was commonly referred to as my "childcare issues" by the CEO & Head of Client Services. None of these conversations nor "consequences" were discussed with my male colleagues with children. Finally, the hostile environment extended into sexual harrassment in the workplace. While I only caught a glimpse of these happenings (walking in to soft core porn playing on a computer screen at 9am while an entire male team crowded around to watch - and then didn't STOP watching after I called them out on it), that same team lead is also known for sharing pictures of male genitalia with freelance & full-time female employees, making derogatory sexual comments about clients while in meetings, and consistently being inappropriate with language in the office. I didn't know their reputation before I took the job, but people in the Bay area have since told me their negative reputation precedes them. Kenwood is not a company with which I would ever want any of my friends, family, colleagues or clients to work.
