I would not recommend trusting Laura to be your wedding day photographer. She is a pleasant person and her work in a controlled, one-on-one environment such as an engagement shoot is good. On our wedding day, I was disappointed beyond words with Laura. I will start with the fact that she LOST more than an hour of photos. This included pictures of my husband going table to table during the reception taking individual pictures with our guests, our cake cutting, and our sparkler exit. How she compensated for losing our wedding photos...Six weeks to the day Laura delivered the photos as stated in the contract. At this time she was forthcoming about the loss of photos and offered an offensively low refund. Which I explained to her that we could not accept this for the following reasons—we spent more time taking pictures with our guests, going table to table, than enjoying the latter part our reception because we had many guests travel from distant places. And we wanted to send those pictures to them with thank you notes. The cake photos, sparklers exit, and group photos outside the venue are disappointing to be lost but all those photos of us and numerous guests at the reception was an irreplaceable loss. Her final offer was to refund 9.89% of our invoiced amount, not good enough. My other huge gripe with her wedding day performance was she had no command or direction over the photos with large parties at all. I would suggest that you would need to have a wedding planner to work with her because she is unable to take charge and work towards achieving the photos you list as the "must-have" shots. Laura excels in outdoor photos with natural light and no need for a flash, which look natural, and candids. On the final photos that were delivered, many of our indoor photos had no consistency in hues, warmth, and brightness. I was washed out in many of the "directed" indoor photos at our church, because of the flash. We brought this to her attention and she was very responsive in being willing to do the edits, but the edits were thoughtless unusable changes.

From the U.S. to Italy to make us remember this beautiful day. Laura from Laurentina Photography is the most kind as well as competent photographer we could have hoped for. She managed to make us feel comfortable during the main photo shoot and was descreet during the other moments of our two-day celebration. The result is an album that truly captures the sheer happiness of that day in a way that is genuine and natural. Not only my husband and I are super happy with her work, our family and friends also told us how much they liked the photos, sending compliments to Laura. Highly recommended!

I secured Laurentina Photography for my Ribbon Cutting. Laura capturing every moment without being intrusive. Most of the time I didn’t realize she was there until I reviewed the shots later. She captured beautiful posed pictures including the actual cutting of the ribbon itself and group photos. During the posed pictures, she provided subtle cues to get photography that looked professional without being stiff. Additionally, she captured candid conversation shots with an artists eye and special moments like a hug with my family. I am so very grateful to her as I now have these professional photographs to showcase the event, for use on my website and for future marketing. She truly exceeded my expectations. Laura has been photographing our family for four years. We love working with her! She is so patient with our two little ones who never seem to cooperate for pictures. They run wild most of the time and she still manages to capture amazing photos. The photos are always beautiful- we couldn't be happier.

This review is long overdue! We hired Laura of Laurentina Photography for a last minute holiday photo shoot for my twins (then age 6) in Alexandria. She did a phenomenal job with getting them both to look at the camera and smile instead of making faces. We had a lot of fun during the photo shoot. Laura really brought out their personalities in the photos! My husband and I loved them so much that we decided to later order an album and some prints to hang on the walls at home. She is great with kids and we will continue to recommend her to friends and family who need portraits taken!

Wonderful experience, and we couldn't have asked for a better shot! Laura was such a delight to work with, and showed such skill. We were worried at first because the partially overcast sky, but Laura gave us exact instructions during the shoot to quickly guide us through. Can't wait to work with her again very soon!

We were impressed with Laura’s work on Instagram and hired her to shoot family photos in November 2017. We have two children, ages 1 and 6. Unfortunately, we did not have a positive experience working with Lauren and would not recommend her to other potential clients. There were some issues with weather on our first shoot date. On a positive note, Laura was accommodating in offering additional time to take more photos at a future date. Unfortunately, the additional time did not result in photos we were happy with.After reviewing 101 images from Laura, we were not satisfied with the vast majority of them. We felt the images lacked consideration of angles, poses, background, and context of image, which we would expect from a professional. There was not one image of us as a family we loved. We have worked with several professional photographers over the past few years, but was the first time where we have been disappointed in the quality of images recieved. We contacted Laura to express that we felt the quality of images were lacking from a technical perspective. In addition, we expressed some concern with requests to pose our 1 year old in dangerous places unassisted during our shoot time, as well as some uncertainty in her ability to capture a story with images. We requested a partial refund because of the level of dissatisfaction.Laura’s response was a rehash of contract and defensiveness--indicating that as the client we should have told her we wanted specific, technical things, like using a wide angle lens to capture images in a certain way. We were left feeling as the client we were responsible for the quality of the images she produced. It was our experience her response was unprofessional and reflected a lack of empathy for our experience. This was a very frustrating and disappointing experience for our family. We paid several hundred dollars and feel we have nothing really to show for it. We hope this review is helpful to other clients, particularly those with children, when considering Laura to capture important images.
