Really disappointed with both food and service. I have just returned from what supposed to be a pleasant evening with my friends and good food, but instead the place was really crowded, the food portions small and overpriced and didn’t even taste good and the dessert was under average. Overall I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience. Staff were not very attentive either and a glass of wine unreasonably expensive, a total joke!!

My partner and I have visited Marmello on many occasions and have never been disappointed with any of the many dishes we have tried, a few maybe not to our taste but always perfectly presented and cooked exactly as expected if not better. Me being a veggie and my partner a full on meat eater it is amazing to be able to dine together where one of us does not feel left out the menu as we often do in other restaurants. Marmello is cosy and cute we don’t feel smothered or unattended, infact we often have a little chat with the staff before we leave and complement the chef and are always warmly greeted and seen out of the door. I could not complement Marmello more for the amazing food and service we always receive!! Many thanks Marmello! A very satisfied customer <3 P.s try the Guinness cake! It’s out of this world

Absolute disappointment. Was excited to try this place after our favourite Kettle & Ryan closed their pop up, never have I paid so much for such a terrible meal. The food came out so quickly--a bad sign it turned out. To be fair, my mackerel was perfectly cooked but was set on a tiny bed of mushy beetroot which had apparently been cut much earlier (the cells lyse and degrade). My partners pork was unseasoned and bland, chunks of apple the only flavour. We were served raw green beans with a tomato sauce on the level of a tesco ready meal. The potatoes were the WORST potatoes I've ever had, they were so old (and not in a re-frying last nights potatoes delicious way, we're talking 3-4 days old) and mealy and yet hard like leather and scraped my throat and were barely even aproaching warmed. We wanted to complain but no one ever checked on us, despite us being the only table indoors. I kept trying to make eye contact with the staff but they were busy chatting. Even when it came time to pay, no one asked how the meal was. Regret eating here, maybe it was an off night but we won't be back.

Given an unfriendly welcome due to not booking first. Explained we came from afar as a recommendation but was absolutely refused service. We were even willing to sit on an empty table outside but no, it’s bookings only.Sorry Marmalo but I wiont be returning nor will my east London friends who were your loyal customers.
