Food was so delicious, also loved the herbal tea and the chocolate mousse dessert. The cocktails were tasty. The service was great. It's a little loud inside when the place is busy, and you have to really speak up to have a conversation, but I didn't mind because my meal was so fabulous. The location is cool, in the lower Haight, but parking can be a little difficult.

We chose Maven simply because we wanted someplace nearby where we were all going out and wanted to be able to make a reservation. Maven had space & the menu looked like it had enough variety for our group. We had the Brussels sprouts for an appetizer which were beautifully glazed & delicious. Everyone had different cocktails & everyone was pleased. The menu offers drink pairing suggestions which is something I really appreciate but see less and less. I had a burger because I was just in the mood for a burger but certainly was not disappointed - it was cooked perfectly and served with tasty house made pickles & a thick cheese sauce instead of the regularly expected cheese slices - quite tasty! Friends ordered various things - pasta, shrimp, pork sliders, grilled cheese - a pretty good sampling of the menu & everyone was pleased. We’ll be keeping Maven on our list of places to visit again!

We were at Maven for a party in the upstairs mezzanine level. Although the noise level was high, we were still able to hear each other speak, unlike other mezzanine experiences we've had, e.g., at Limon on Valencia, where one of our party had to leave to purchase earplugs. The hors d'oeuvres served at Maven were good.

We had a great time here! The cocktails were amazing and went down smoothly. I recommend the 5 Spot which a rum based cocktail. We had several plates and all were delicious but a bit on the small serving size. We enjoyed the Duck liver toast the best. The atmosphere was pleasant with a mixture of long tables for communal dining and free standing tables too. We sat at the spacious bar and had a great view of the place and pedestrians walking by. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable for San Francisco range.

Delicious, well-balanced and creative cocktails. I only ate the duck liver mouse but that was good enough to make me want to come back and try more! It had a great smooth texture; the strawberry mustard listed on the menu must have been mixed into the puree, it seemed to lend a bit of sweetness that mellowed the earthiness of the liver. The accompanying toasted English muffins had an abundance of golden crispiness that complement the liver to the point that one bite tasted a bit like a savory and sweet donut! Yum yum!
