What is Software and Hardware Integration?
  • Hüseyin Avcı
  • Sep 14, 2019

In its basic form, it requires four components: 1) Hardware – the physical entity that you want to extract data from. For example, a thermometer, camera, lasers, weighing scales, a measuring device or robot. 2) A Sensor – a device that converts the analogue signal from the hardware into digital data for processing by a computer. 3) A Connector (technical term “communication bus”) to transfer the information between the hardware and a computer. The most common connectors are USB cables, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Ethernet connections. 4) Software – a program that tells the hardware what tasks to perform, e.g. what measurements to take.

We have created bespoke, white label software for a wide range of businesses for over twenty years, helping new ventures and start-ups build business systems and mobile apps that provide long-term, subscription-based revenue. We can help you to… Create an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) to prove that your commercial and technical model will work. Once the market has been tested, we can move on to the next phase of complete feature development. Leverage any work already done by taking a simple test version of your software, perhaps written quickly with limited skill or resource, and turn it into a solid, reliable product. Provide finance solutions for funding the development project, where external funding or own funding is not available.

Although not new, the Internet of Things, or the Internet of Everything (IoE) as it’s more recently been called, has been gaining momentum over the last 5 years. Put simply, the IoT is about connecting devices over the internet (or other frequencies such as Wi-Fi) and letting them “talk” to applications, each other and to us. It’s a similar concept to software and hardware integration. It’s enabling individuals and even cities to become smarter and more efficient – and potentially it could do the same for your business.

Is a mobile app right for my company?

It’s important to us that you get the right business application for your needs, objectives and budget – we’d never build you a mobile app if we felt you could achieve the same app-style capability, for less money, on a mobile-friendly website. That’s why, before we even start to think about the build, we talk to you about what you’re trying to achieve, and then work back to be absolutely sure that a mobile app is more suitable than say, a web app or desktop app. Generally speaking, the benefits of a native mobile app (a mobile app that ‘lives’ on the mobile device and is accessed via the icons on the device’s home-screen) over a mobile-friendly website or web app are.

What is a web app?

  • Sep 14, 2019

A web app is a software program that you use with an internet browser, in the same way that a mobile app is a software program that you use on your mobile device. The last few years have seen a proliferation of web apps. Their popularity is most likely due to their ease of use: they’re accessible by anyone with a browser connected to the internet, they cater to the needs of mobile users (important as smartphones are now the main way that people access the internet), and they can be deployed quickly and with almost no installation needed from the user.
