I have never been angry enough to take the time to post a review, but in this case, I am. Opie’s Computers and specifically Terry Opie is one of the biggest disappointments I and my business associates have ever run across. We gave him our trust by letting him work on our biggest asset, our business web site, we were patient when he missed every deadline, and we tried to be as understanding as we could with his stay-at-home father responsibilities, which are considerable. There is nothing wrong with splitting family time with work, but the imbalance here is too great and he allowed his kids and family to completely capitalize his time. Once he finally did get back to our job, he was so unfocused, he made TONS OF MISTAKES which we were supposed to understand, because he said, “His family comes first.” That’s true – which meant OUR JOB DID NOT and he didn’t care if we got frustrated waiting for him because he demanded most of the money upfront, so he’d already been paid and our job just sat there until he could bother to get around to it. He also lied about the complexity of our site and wouldn’t give us access to make small changes, which in the past we had always done, he just became a dictator and it wasn’t even his site, it was ours! We have never had someone lie to us on such a regular basis. Don’t sign any contract with this man, he will use every underhanded means to use it against you and walk away scott free with your money and not do the work. This is how he repaid our trust, patience and understanding that we gave him. Very sad and disappointing.Update: Brief response to T.O.s comments:* It's interesting that many of the "good" reviews have no details or specifics about their project either, but he decided not to question the validity of those?* Overall T.O.s comments make so sense to anyone here and was very oddThat said it's time to move on to more important people, places and things.

I had a horrible experience with this company. I paid Terry Opie $100 a month in advance to keep my Wordpress site updated. He calls it his monthly maintenance program - I call it the monthly ripoff program. The updates were NEVER done on time and I always got tons of excuses from Terry why most updates could not be done at all. Bottom line, after a year of this I now have a site totally out of date and now have hired another developer to the same work I paid Opies computers to do - so I too am paying for the same work to be done twice. DON’T USE THIS COMPANY. You’ll just be sorry like I am.In reply to Terry’s reply- I guess you are taking a page from the Donald Trump playbook. Instead of taking responsibility for what you’ve done, you start another conversation about something else in order to distract people. Bottom line we paid YOU. I stand by the review and my husband, who is an attorney, wanted me to tell you that whoever this Hillary person is, if he is even real, if he sees his name slandered here you could be in a world of hurt because this person’s name appears no where in any of the conversations here and what you’re saying is unsupported. Just thought you’d like to know. Not that it will help you tell the truth.

I know this is long, but please bear with me - STAY AWAY FROM OPIE'S COMPUTERS! If you use him it’s at your own RISK. In 20 years’ of web work I’ve never seen anyone more incompetent, dishonest, unethical and argumentative. I paid Terry Opie 50% of my new venture’s website costs upfront which was $7,500 in January 2017. The entire site, per contract, should have been ready to use by March 2017. By June – 6 months later – I still had NO FUNCTIONING WEBSITE. He missed every deadline, and I had to pay for the same work twice, because he could NOT do the work he was paid to do, so I had to hire a third party developer to step in and get it done. At the end of all of this – the site DOES NOT WORK! The sign up forms and payment processing are faulty, and now all my loan money is gone and I have no way to get this site up and running. I am now broke, a large part due to the fact the site was so many months LATE, did NOT work, and therefore brought in no income, so I told Terry he would have to wait for any further payment. After all I had to wait 6 MONTHS for my site. His response? With no warning - he set a collection agency on me who gave me only 2 HOURS to pay $7,713.40 – $200 more than the contracted amount and Terry REFUSED to take off the $4,200 I had to pay the third party developer to do his work and fix all his mistakes – which were MANY. So I had to take out a high interest credit card in a hurry because with 3 part time jobs I am barely keeping my head above water. So now if I can’t pay off the $7,713.40 in the next few weeks I am facing hideous monthly fees and payments I can’t make on top of the $30,000 loan amount I have to pay by the end of the year, or lose my home– all of which TERRY KNEW ABOUT. He wasn’t satisfied with destroying my new business venture, he also wanted to be paid for all the work the third party did plus his own work that doesn’t function, and RUIN me financially to boot and he did just that. He is responsible for all my problems? Of course not, but he could have asked and we could have worked out something out. Lastly he brags about my site LetsHaveDinnerClub on many of his business pages and website saying it’s his “Masterpiece” and “Biggest Achievement.” But it’s NOT. I designed it, Eva the third party did all the hard backend work because Terry COULD NOT DO IT and he is trying to take all the credit. I am now in the process of shutting down my site because I can’t afford the server fees and I need to save money. This is how Terry Opie treats people – use him at your own risk. If he replies about how hard he worked – don’t believe it – if he had, none of the above would ever have happened.

We have used Opie's computers for out IT solutions for several years. I can't imagine using anyone else at this point. He is the best. We have an automotive repair business and rely on our computers for everything from service information, customer records, billing, parts ordering, etc. We have been fortunate to have Terry taking care of our needs. I met Terry years ago when I needed a new website for my business. Four years later we are upgrading that website for mobile apps (like everyone else) and he will be helping me get started with some other web based marketing efforts as well. We have purchased one computer from him and had him solve problems and do numerous upgrades to our other machines also. He has always been eager to help and professional in every way.
