In the early 1980s, my parents bought an ill-fated Polaroid Polavision video camera. Similar to super-8mm, the films came in self-developing cassettes that were only playable on a purpose-built Polavision viewer. The format was only around for a few years, but the only eight home movies that my family owns were on those cassettes. Rob was not only familiar with the obscure format, but he had digitized some before. He took the time to explain the process to me, which involved opening the cases and splicing the films onto standard 8mm reels. Despite the extra work, the turnaround was only a little over a week, and he delivered the files on a playable DVD as well as on the cloud, and he handed me back the original films and boxes.
