Feedback:

I absolutely love our home and in the last 5 years our neighborhood has grown and we are fortunate to have such wonderful neighbors who quickly became close friends. However, I would strongly encourage you to request a copy of the HOA prior to actually purchasing a home in the Ritchie Development. Now after 5 years, we are being told my husband’s commercial vehicle is ‘deemed offensive’ or ‘unsightly’ by our ‘board’ who is a woman working for the development, acting on behalf of our so called board because our development is not at 70% capacity. With that being said, we have had high school students drop off drugs and other paraphernalia in our portion of the neighborhood which is pretty secluded and also happens to be in a location where cement trucks like to clean out their shoots. That area by the way is something I would consider ‘unsightly’ and although the Andover PD came and confiscated what they needed, the piles of cement were left behind. Our commons area retaining wall is missing most of its rocks and has been for well over the past two years. Or how about we talk about the fact neighbors take turns mowing around the pond because our children like to fish, yet the grass is so overgrown we can’t make it to the pond because it’s only mowed twice throughout the summer by our HOA. Or maybe we should call attention to the fact that some homeowners thought it was a great idea to take their dog swimming and we had to drain and refill the pool several times throughout the summer and nothing was done or the homes which aren’t kept up to the so call standards we have. Or the yards that are overgrown. The list can go on and on. With all that being said, the letter we recently was notifying us we had till a specific date to remove this vehicle or we will be fined $20 per day for my husband’s offensively/unsightly commercial work truck which is parked each night in our driveway. A truck that is used only for business use, considering they are available 24 hours / 7 days a week. It is the business decision to continue with those operating day/time, so now we are to assume the liability risk if something where to happen in his commute to picking up his vehicle. When we called to get a better understanding, we were informed 'our board can make whatever rules we want and there is nothing we can do about it'. We have never been treated with so much disrespect and overall we are very disappointed with this entire situation and how it’s being handled. It’s amazing to think that companies pay for their branding on vehicles and these same companies/employees work in our community yet those employees are not actually WELCOMED to actually LIVE in such neighborhoods. Ritchie Development’s builders actually contract these same companies whose families are now being discriminated against. I hope you don’t have the same experience, they have crossed the line with their derogatory and discriminating comments. Companies looking to brand commercial vehicles: Cox Communications, AT&T, HVAC, Electricians, Insurance Agents & Underwriters, etc - please know your employees may suffer consequences because of your ’offensive’ or ‘unsightly’ branded vehicles.
