About - Selkie Design Research Agency

Selkie is a fresh research agency specializing in HCI and design research.

We partner up with international organizations, educational and public institutions, start-ups and curious individuals, who search for information and inspiration in the process of their projects development. Agency is established by two experienced researchers with psychology, service design and UX research background. For the last 7 years, we have been collaborating in development of IT solutions and omnichannel services for clients based in UK, Norway, France, Switzerland, Poland and USA in various domains (healthcare, education, social care, banking and finance, media, sport, travel, logistics, transportation, management, blockchain technology, smart city).

We co-create growing Silesian network of IT professionals, where we closely collaborate with product designers, strategy consultants, business analysts, developers, and scholars. Our research approach combines knowledge from social sciences with design research methodologies within the agile framework. It is our main objective to support project decisions and shape human-oriented strategies.

Chosen process is always adapted to identified research needs and shaped from a combination of 3 main research approaches: - Exploration: understanding users needs, environment constraints and stakeholders objectives through ethnographic and quantitative methods, - Evaluation:

concept verification through usability testing and service prototype simulations, - Generation: strategy planning and solution creation through prioritisation of research data and insights. We also invite you to benefit from our original project-formative workshops Research Playground, where together with your team, we analyze project from the perspective of the biggest challenges and unknowns, by means of visual and creative group activities.
