Our home took 15 months to complete. The plans required a variance through the HOA due to roof pitch being below 6:12 in rear. Also we needed a gopher tortoise removed from the property before construction could begin. Once under way, the project moved ahead at a good pace. Because Maronda only requires a minimal downpayment, without periodic draws, the time required to build did not concern us. The construction appears similar to other builders working in the neighborhood. The subs were on the job as scheduled by the project manager. The project manager is key to the project progressing smoothly. Our project manager was exceptionally good.Overall we are very happy with the results. The workmanship is better than we expected. Maronda preformed to the contract in a professional manner.One big disappointment was the landscape design and implementation. We attempted to have a Florida friendly landscape design installed to reduce the water consumption for the yard. Maronda refused to deviate from their standard landscape plan which included substantial lawn area around the house. We believe Maronda should re-think their landscaping design approach. Architecturally, the design of the house is extremely well thought out. It is an open floor plan. Most builders in our area rehash the same old plans and are "tired" in our estimation. TThe construction plans are thorough and complete. Maronda pre-fabs not only the roof trusses, but the interior partitions as well. The walls are numbered and the slab is chalked out with all the wall locations identified. It went together fast, and dimensionally accurate. We were impressed with this construction technique.All in all a positive experience. We will recommend Maronda to our friends if they are considering building a new house.

My family and I have been happy Maronda customers for over 15 years, with this being our fourth home with the company. While all prior experiences have been stellar, this last experience was not only degrading but left everyone involved with a terrible taste. We encountered Michael when we decided to inquire about quotes to possibly get a new home. We went into the office to see Maronda’s offers and latest designs. At the time we did not yet have our loan approval, but we did not expect to be treated as horribly as we were. Not only did he lie to us about his previous sales, in an attempt to entice us, ( specifically the 10,000 summer deal he told us that it was specific to him and that it only for his returning maronda customers) while our paper work was being processed, no matter how hard we attempted to maintain contact, he refused to return our calls or text messages, for an entire week, he did not reply. A week later, we were approved through a conventional loan, we called him to tell him that were approved and that we wanted to ensure that the lot was still open to us. He told us that it was his day off and he was unavailable until maybe two days later. We were Slightly put off, but we still had faith in Maronda so we made the decision after speaking about this issue with our realtor that we needed to go to a different office. The second office on springs hill drive gave us the wonderful Kathy. She was not only polite, she was conversational, and helped with everything from color scheme to tile cleaning plans. This was the customer service we were used to with Maronda. As a matter of fact every member of that office was not only extremely helpful but enthusiastic as well. Now we have reached the point of the contract where we have signed for the home and put money down. Michael has decided to come back into the picture with out us calling him. We know this because we have had to email all of the proof of our unanswered text messages and call logs due to the fact that Michael feels that Kathy stole his client and that he deserves part the commission. At the point where we should be celebrating the new home, I now have to prove that Michael has no claim on any part of us buying a home. If anything if we had just not tried the second office first, we would have not bought again with Maronda. We maintain proof of every home we have bought with Maronda between my immediate family as well as family members, we have bought about 40 homes, and I have no issue with giving proof of all of our family buying with the company. I was the first in my family to buy with Maronda. Having a large family from all over they followed after my rave reviews. While we should be celebrating our new home we feel that we are on trial because we did not want to put ourselves in a position of blatant disrespect. When Kathy called her manager he was fully aware that there was a disgruntled customer in the office and was well aware if we had to work with Michael we would walk away from maronda entirely. He did nothing to rectify the situation, and specifically told Kathy that she can sign us now, but he’s going to wait to hear Michael’s side of the story. As if me, the customer was lying. As if our word and money was not good enough. We are outraged and disappointed. Not to mention that We were always up front with why we went to a different office, and when Kathy called to speak to the manager he knew that we were in the office and did not ask speak with us. Is it due to the fact that we are an African-American family? Or could it be the fact that they thought they could take advantage of Kathy just because she is a woman? Either way, there is major issue which I am irate heartbroken to be caught in the middle of. I ask you this, what is the point of building family homes, if the reception is not family friendly.
