When Rt 12 was closed we were told that we needed to vacate our house even tho no one could get on the island. They would only offer a 3 night rental. We only needed 1 night. We called Hatteras Realty and they contacted the owner of another house and explained the situation. The owner let us have the house until Rt 12 was open for a very reasonable price. They even gave us linens for free! Surf or Sound did not care for their customers at all.
