I cannot recommend UVTHS more highly. We brought our little dog into Emergency after two seizures last weekend and received exemplary care from Dr Suzanna and Dr Lauren. She was admitted and has been in the care of Dr Jane since then. We have a sad result but I don't think I can do justice to the level of care and compassion provided by Dr Jane and the rest of the team. We're incredibly grateful for everything they've done for Squeak, it's allowed us a little more time with her and that feels like a miracle.

We took our pup to this vet hospital recently. Our pup swallowed a chicken skewer stick at a park. We were referred to Sydney Uni by our local vet. They were extremely friendly and professional and took very good care of him. He needed urgent surgery, and yes it was expensive BUT it's no different from any other emergency vet hospital. The surgery was a success, our pup has fully recovered and is back to his cheeky self.To all of the people posting negative reviews about the high costs - you really need to invest in Pet Insurance. We ended up getting most of the hospital fees back. Thank you Sydney Uni Vet for saving our fur baby's life :)

Feedback:

They are the best for specialist services. I took my Lucy here and they have been able to treat her successfully for her multiple problems when I couldn't find any solution from our regular vet.

Feedback:

Our puppy developed a hernia after her spey procedure. The vet told us it was very minor and corrected it without charging us. When we went to pick her up after the hernia removal, she had a bandage on (she didn't have one after her spey) and the discharging nurse told us we had to keep it on. Our puppy was extremely quiet and seemed very uncomfortable, although she was eating etc normally. We knew something was wrong and went back twice over the weekend. They refused to let us see a vet without paying the after hours consultation fee. We asked a nurse if we could take the bandage off and she very confidently told us that was a terrible idea. Confused and worried, we saw the vet on Monday. Turns out the bandage wasn't necessary, and our puppy had an allergic reaction to the adhesive. Our puppy is very healthy and doing fine now, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this hospital.

Feedback:

A repeatedly positive experience here. Easy and free parking. Very reasonable fees for the level of specialist care provided. Dr McDonald is an absolute Gem.Keep up the good work!

Like many reviews here already, this place is all about money. Came in with a 3 month old puppy with a limp in back leg but ONLY after resting (limp goes away with movement) - vet spent 2 minutes observing the dog and 10mins trying to justify how his diagnosis of locking knee cap made sense- the symptoms of locked knee cap are totally opposite to what we were explaining and showing the video of but he totally dismissed it.. 3 times.. Did not even acknowledge our comments - suggested xrays to make some more money- regular consult is 30% more than any other vet in the area- took the puppy in the back and made him run around and said he could not see the limp. Even though we told him 3 times that it goes away with exercise - walked out into the waiting room, put the pup on the floor and he was limping. Told the reception and they said the vet is already with someone else and we would need to come back for another consultation - the issue continued for 2 days so we took the pup to another vet who said this guy had no idea what he was talking about and was going to sedate and xray a 3 month old puppy with soft tissue injury who just needed rest.. - oh and the vet discharge notes were actually different to what we verbally said to us during the consultation regarding what we should do in the next few days Sent a complaint to the surgery and the manager also dismissed our comments but offered a free consultation... A week later.. Now I have to deal with puppy's insurance and explain to them a misdiagnosed problem with a knee joint when there was none to begin with.. We now have a pre-existing condition on our records... Money comes first, then care comes later if at all.. We have been going to this place with our other dog for over 3 years and they have been pretty good.. We had a consultation with this particular vet before and he was hopeless then too.. Maybe it's just one rotten apple in the lot..

Feedback:

Extremely expensive emergency care. They won’t do anything at all without payment up front. Took my sick dog there last night. Paid $1000 for tests and IV drip. Got a call a few hours later saying they had used up that money., Then several phone calls in the morning about the cost of surgery quoted at $7-8000. I had to deal with these calls at work. I authorized surgery, which they did after I paid them another $3000. That’s $4000 all up in less than 24 hours, the dog died from cardiac arrest from the stress of surgery. Horrible experience. All they cared about was extorting money. I have dealt with other serious problems at local vet who was more realistic about pets health, less financially grasping ie willing to work on account, and saved pets life. If your pet needs emergency care, these vets will bleed you dry. Extortion or euthanasia - terrible choices, that’s what they offer. Avoid if you can. A natural pet death at home is kinder than these people.

If I could give 0 stars I would! This hospital is a joke! To say the least! We took our cat there after he was experienceingDifficulty going to the toilet. We got there they took our cat in and we got pulled into a consultation room and was advised what was wrong. They then brought us the expected bill and it came to $3600!!! WhileHe was there I had to keep calling to see how is was going. Always got put on hold for a lengthy time and was advised that they would call to give updates which they didn’t My first call I got from them was them advising me that they require to do a kidney scan that cost $500! (Money hungry place!) He was than sent home with a bag fulll of medication and the cost was around $350 that he used for 2 days as I was advised to take him off the medication as his symptoms were not improving! He was home for 3 days and was very Lethargic and happens to be he is blocked again. We have found another vet around where we live and he has to undergo the same treatment and the cost is half the price for a 3 night stay. $1550.This place! Money Hungary Care factor 0Rude when u don’t have money! Also a special mention the the Blonde and Red haired receptionists! Rude Rude Rude! As we took him back giving them the benefit of the Doubt and was advised that we would get charged another $260 for a consultation after them knowing what was wrong with my cat as he only left there 3 days ago!. Another thing to mention! When we were leaving one of the receptionist said very rudely ‘Are you staying or not’.DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS PLACE!

Feedback:

I had to to rush my very sick and much loved furline grandson to the practice last Thursday and although Arnie could not be saved I cannot praise all the vets, their assistants and the reception staff for their professionalism and compassion that they had for both our beloved Arnie and my daughter and myself . Thank you so much and we very much appreciate all your care.
