I have called on Whiteboard for countless solutions over the past several years across multiple companies for complete line review and brand development, quick sketches for presentations/customer reviews, brainstorming, all manner of prototypes and specific design challenges. The team in place responds rapidly and find ways to fit our projects into their usually busy workload. Paul and Jason meet with us to scope the project and the deliverables then quickly develop a multi-stage proposal. I have found that the work delivered always exceeds the value of the proposal- we get more than we asked for. Its just how they work. Over deliver and delight. Whiteboard is my Go To company when our internal teams are stumped. I know we will get off center and create an optimum product solution. This review is coming from the perspective of, and as caution to, an independent inventor and entrepreneur - not that of a large corporation. Whiteboard was not a fit for us or our very simple product. The introductory call consisted of a blurry skype call with the president and an engineer. They require the client to pay handsomely for this call, however it was half spent listening to their firm's sales pitch and not addressing the general questions we provided in advance. What information we did finally obtain was helpful, but could have been easily covered in a focused, much shorter call vs. the hour we spent. We had been very clear in the preparatory material and the call initiation about what we wanted to discuss for the fee we paid. Upon expressing our dissatisfaction and a request for a partial refund (for the sales pitch and other unnecessary parts of the call), they refused to admit that they failed in any way to deliver the promised value. It is my opinion that they are overpaid consultants for this application, that feel they have the right to determine what information is and is not valuable to a customer. They also appear to feel that the customer's time is not valuable, as they wasted the time of our 5-person team. These feelings are based on comparing this experience to several other consultant introductory calls for the same project that week (who were given the exact same intro email, intents, and pre-call documentation). Had Whiteboard been at all willing to acknowledge and address our dissatisfaction with the experience, and provide any level of refund, I would have felt that they were a fair organization that cares about their customer. We now feel that there are smaller product development firms that will be a much better use of our time and money. Whiteboard has done great work for others as evidenced by their portfolio, and we were simply not a fit. I can not speak of Whiteboard from the perspective of a large corporation that better fits into their silos and systems.
