Cannot with a good conscious recommend this contractor to anyone wanting to build a home or remodel for that matter. If I could give him zero stars I would. Moved into home and after several months still having issues with him coming out to finish warranty work on our home. Contacted him several times about issues and he refuses to come out and finish work. I would give him a 2 out of 10 for customer service and quality and that is being generous. If you are looking for someone to build your home or remodel save yourself the headache and heartache and don't waste your money on this contractor.

Dave Widmer/Widmer Construction is a crook. Not only did he screw everything up, there is $17,000+ missing/stolen. He stiffed the subcontractors, he left liens on peoples houses. After ruining the budgets for everything, and over-spending $22,000 on framing alone (yes that's right, enough for another entire framing package, other builders are in disbelief on this one item alone), never on the job site to inspect and correct mistakes, and so many more documented issues, he abandoned the job! And then he started smearing my name telling subcontractors that because of issues with me he wasn't able to pay them. The reality being he took more money than he was supposed to, AND STILL TOOK ALL OF HIS BUILDERS FEES. He did not fix any of his screw ups, one major ones having to do with the slab, that he was told about by me before the slab was poured, causing the need for three 6 foot trenches to be cut into the new slab to fix the plumbing. He always claims to be the victim and everyone else is trying to screw him, and blames everyone else for his screw ups. He think he has zero obligation to the people he has ruined their finances and homes. In fact he has now filed for bankruptcy. IF he was actually a legitimate businessman, hell if he was actually a good person, he would actually try to find any way possible to make up for what he has done to home owners and workers. Do not employ him for any reason or any project. If you need proof there is quite a list of people he has ripped off.He would go through sub contractors like water. He would start with someone who had not done work for him before, and then he would stiff them, and pull a different subcontractor on the job, until they weren't getting paid anymore. And when the bids were over budget, he didn't shop around, he would go with the first person that would do the work, no matter how much it cost. It came to a point when he brought bids that were all over budget, and I was easily able to find different reputable subcontractors that were within or under budget. He literally did not earn a dime of the builders fees he took. His whole job of keeping budgets, getting sub contractors, PAYING subcontractors, making sure things were done right, EVEN SOMETHING AS SIMPLE as obtains permits, he did not do! He is a liar, a thief, and a con; all of which there is evidence and witnesses that will attest to this.

Worst experience of my life. Our dream home turned into our worst nightmare. We've been able to live in the house for the last four months, but we still do not have a completely functioning guest bath as concrete was found in the pipes (this isn't the only pipe either) and several other projects that were supposed to be part of the contract. As well as we have additional liens on our home because he didn't pay the subcontractors. Please do your due diligence when hiring a contractor. I pray he can turn things around but I cannot in good conscious recommend him.
