Winsted Pawn website said it’s was open I arrived around 10:30 am on Friday and it was closed so that was frustrating when I drove over 30 miles thinking they would be open.

This pawnshop is horrible they close earlier than their posted hours, on their late days when they're open till 6 PM and you go in there at 4 o'clock and they can't do any business because they're doing inventory, it's always something with that place

I was told over the phone a couple of weeks ago by someone identifying himself as the owner that my large flat screen tv would be worth about 45 dollars if it is in good condition. I am disabled so I had to wait until my son could take it up. Before he went he called to ask if there was anyone there that could help him lift it into the store. Well, when he got there the man behind the counter said " I can't do any heavy lifting". That is when my son said " that is why we called first". One of the other customers helped my son carry it in. The employee (or owner) tested every part of the tv and my son said that it worked fine and looked good. He then was offered only 20 dollars. My son told him what we were offered over the phone and the man argued " I don't know who told you that". I recognized the voice when we called before going up... it was him that told us 45 dollars. We come from a neighboring town so if I knew it was only going to be 20 I would have just given the tv to goodwill. I'm pretty sure I will never do business with them again.

I have done business with Winsted Pawn & Jewelry for over a decade now and I would recommend their business to my friends and family and anyone who wants quality merchandise and a fair deal on pawned items I thank the owner and staff for their friendly and professional business.

Never had any problems with them. Prices are fair for the items I'm interested in, I've never pawned anything to know how reasonable pawning with them is, though.
