Extremely positive!A highly personal event motivated me to complete a family documentary project…my Mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and my Father had passed away 10 years ago. I can’t overstate how remarkable our project is. From the beginning to end, the experience with Jane and Peter was positive. From selecting photos, writing the narration, documenting the history with captivating stories and fascinating facts, selection of music, editing…the list goes on. Jane and Peter bring years of experience to their work. As Jane would explain, these types of projects are “works of love.” And, so it is with my project. They provided suggestions and guidance when required. They selected the best photos to capture the story. They advised when I was uncertain how best to proceed.Each family has their own story to tell and share with their families and friends. I felt it was important to document both my Father’s life (parents from England and settled in Canada) and my Mother’s life (parents from Japan and settled in the United States). I wanted newsreels inserted from World War II, detailing the difficulties that Japanese Americans faced in the U.S. and the 442nd unit, the most highly decorated unit for it’s size in U.S. history.The story flowed exceptionally well and captured the story and essence of the lives of my Father and Mother. My Mother, her children, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were touched and delighted with the documentary. The Historical Society from her town wants a copy for their Museum. The Historical Society stated this was the most professional documentary they had ever seen.Thank you Jane and Peter for helping document the legacy of the Tyson & Takenaka families.

I was searching for a company to create a memorial video for my husband, who had recently passed away. He was a very prominent civic and industry leader, with hundreds of people expected at his service. It was imperative that the video be perfect, capturing all aspects of his extraordinary life and career in a way that was both compelling and moving. This was not a job for an amateur, to put it mildly. After interviewing several firms and reviewing their work, I chose Your Story Here, and could not be happier with this selection. Not only was the final product tasteful, creative and exactly what I wanted, working with Jane and Peter was wonderful. No matter how many edits, changes or questions I had, they were patient, kind and understanding. Most of all, they were able to accommodate, going out of their way to do so at times. In a situation like this, when both pressures and emotions run high, it was such a comfort to speak to Jane and hear her say, "everything is going to turn out fine." And she was right. Special note: The rates are very reasonable considering the quality of their work. You might find a firm that can do it for a little bit less, but given how important these types of projects are to families - preserving cherished personal histories for decades and generations to come - Your Story Here is worth every penny.

Jane worked with me to take 11 old photos, restore them, remove clutter (including people) so that all the photos had a single subject. She removed coffee tables, lamps, people's legs, wall outlets etc. The magic is seeing floor or patio where there was none! They were all beautifully converted to black and white and enlarged. The process was easy, and the cost was very reasonable. This was a surprise for my Mom - a gallery of all of her dogs. It turned out amazing!

Presented them with a hodgepodge of video clips, photos, music and they were able to turn it into a wonderful 30 min highlight clip of our wedding. We couldn't be happier with the quality and tastefulness of the video. The transitions between different segments of the wedding accompanied w/ pictures and music flowed beautifully. And the turnaround was quicker than expected. We will be able to enjoy our special day whenever we feel because of their outstanding video editing skills. Highly recommend Your Story Here.
