Client Review on ZOEA Scuba Diving Center

Feedback:

For my 50th birthday I escaped to Majorca and did something I'd always wanted to - Scuba diving. I'd never done anything like this before (apart from snorkelling, but that doesn't come close to this experience...) and if I'm honest, I was a little nervous but I figured that if I didn't do it now, I probably never would, so I went for it.From the moment I walked into the shop, I knew I had nothing to worry about. The guy on the counter (I didn't catch his name) was very friendly, explained everything to me in easy to understand terms, explained the costs (there are no hidden charges, even the lockers are free), and totally put my mind at rest. I booked a session for that very afternoon. When I returned (free pickup and drop off to my hotel - a lovely touch), I was introduced to my instructors Raquel and Katrina. I was the only English-speaking person in our party of five, so I got two instructors all to myself - bonus! I had a sit-down briefing outside, before selecting and trying on a wet-suit. Everything was explained and I had to fill in and sign a few forms (the usual declaration of medical conditions etc...) then we headed off to the boat.We soon arrived at the dive site, Katrina explaining and demonstrating the jacket and breathing apparatus to me as we travelled. At no point did I feel nervous or consider changing my mind - even though I could have, had I wanted to. Everything was just so simple and explained so well - easy to understand - even to an oldie like me!The dive itself was amazing! Katrina literally held my hand for the duration, I didn't have to worry about a single thing. I just relaxed, enjoyed the show and savoured the experience. There are a few rules you have to stick to - if your instructor gives you the 'OK' hand-sign, you are expected to return the gesture. You need to keep breathing steadily and not hold your breath - that sounds daft but being underwater as a beginner, it's a reflex action to hold your breath. Nothing too complicated though, and certainly nothing to worry about. I'd paid an extra 30 Euros for some underwater photo's - I mean how often do you get to do something as cool as this?! I wanted a memento! - so while Katrina was leading me, Raquel was on camera duty, and she got loads of awesome shots! I expected four or five pictures, but came home with over ninety! (You can have them as a shared Google Drive folder, or on a physical USB stick). It's like a different world down there! We dived to about 4.5 metres but it felt like 20! And we were down for about 40 minutes. What an amazing experience from start to finish!I am so, so glad I did this. I can't recommend it enough. At the time (June 2019) I paid 90 Euros for the dive experience and another 30 for the pictures. I can honestly say it's the best 120 Euros I've ever spent. It blows Dolphin/Whale spotting excursions out of the water (pun intended!). Everyone was so friendly, the equipment was modern, it was a totally worry-free, mind-expanding experience and I absolutely loved every minute! Also, if you return within twelve months and do the next level course, they'll refund the cost of the discover diving experience! If you're even considering trying Scuba, don't even think about twice about this, just do it! You won't regret it, I promise. ZOEA Scuba was fantastic, and I'm definitely heading back there next time I visit the island.
