If you are particular about having your data recovered locally and not having your device shipped to some far off place, then this is the place to go. More upfront, honest service and a better quote and price than the other place. I procrastinated a few months in posting a review but that lets me say all my data is still there and their work still stands. I think the only thing they can't do is beat B&H on the price of a new hard drive to host the recovered data, but even at that their quote on that was fair. Of course every case is different, but if your data can be recovered it will happen here.

I would highly recommend Alex and his crew. They are first rate. Have used them for years. I am an independent contractor and my laptop is my life. One day I got scary pop-ups about my computer had been compromised/possible/ransom threats. Called Microsoft who were useless. And then called Alex. Dropped off my computer at their new site in Rosslyn and knowing my time problems has it all fixed by the next afternoon. In my view, Envescent is the best

I found Envescent and Alexander to be little short of saviors when my hard drive crashed suddenly and unexpectedly and took volumes of critical and family information and media with it. Alex was quick, sensitive, clear, and extremely responsive. Initially the formality and arms length transaction and 5 page contract for a firm I knew only via phone and web were a wee bit off putting - but small businesses must protect themselves. Any mild uneasiness fell away when I met Alex in person and, like a good doctor he exuded a wonderful bedside manner; taking the time to clearly answer my questions, assuage my fears and explain the process, risks and probabilities in layman's terms and with total transparency. While I entered the process feeling hopeless, I left cautiously optimistic, and in the end he far exceeded my wildest hopes and dreams as far as recovering nearly everything at the price and well within the time frame promised. I would not hesitate to use their services again for any technology related matter and I recommend and commend them without reservation and with complete confidence. It was truly a transformative experience, and I have nothing but good feelings and deep respect for Alex's talents, professionalism and attitude.

I highly recommend AVCR. Alex laid out the possibilities for my data recovery before hand and the charges, and he gave me all the information I needed to avoid a recurrence of the issue. Plus, he used email to keep me apprised at all steps of the process -- and he did the work quickly. Bravo. AVCR is a great model of an efficient small tech business.

I've been going to Alexander for all of my computer needs for over 5 yrs now - I wouldn't trust it to anyone else. He saved my old Gateway laptop several times. He has taken amazing care of my custom-built desktop, with all of its nuances and issues, and now that I am in the market for a new laptop he was the first person's advice I sought for what to buy. Exceptional customer service; fair, straightforward pricing; clear and concise diagnosis and resolution options - It's a pleasure doing business with AVCR.

I experienced a hard drive failure on an 18-month old computer just after moving to the local area. I didn't have anyone on which I could depend for a recommendation, so I turned to Google and Yelp. I couldn't agree more with AVCR's five-star rating. Alex is extremely professional and willing to explain in detail both the issues and the proposed remedies. He was very upfront with estimates and pricing which is much appreciated. Not only did he see me the same day that I called, he got my computer turned around quickly to meet my work/commute schedule. He also suggested that I contact my credit card company to see if they offered an extended warranty beyond the initial 12-month warranty offered by the manufacturer. I got a message this weekend that my credit card company will reimburse me for the diagnostics and repair conducted by AVCR. I probably would not have opened a claim without his prompting. Hopefully, I won't need his services in the future, but if I do, this is the first and only place I will go!
