Feedback:

We needed a 1TB external hard disk drive quickly to backup a failing laptop drive. IMS sold us a Toshiba Canvio drive for $190 with tax. Online Amazon sell the same drives for $54 (other etailers go a low as $48). I accept that bricks and mortar stores have higher overheads, but this was a relatively ridiculous markup - Walmart sell this product in stores for $55. Unless a mistake was made in the pricing, I can't recommend this store. On the plus side, the staff were quick, friendly and helpful. In response to the owners reply below: I walk by the IMS store regularly, and in the window you display a number of PC vendor logos including Apple and descriptions to the effect that you provide 24hour service for computer hardware. Forgive me then for thinking that yours would be a suitable store to resort to when a computer hard drive started to fail. When I entered that store and asked simply if you folks sold external hard drives, the person behind the counter replied 'certainly, what size are you looking for'. What am I missing here??So you advertise in your window computer hardware repairs, your receptionist offered to sell me a suitable piece of replacement hardware, but the fact that you have a circa 350% price markup that is frankly ridiculous is the customer's fault. Sorry but 'caveat emptor' is a customer service notion that no business should rely on big or small in this age.
