Terrible attitude of the salesman we spoke to, and another salesman who kept chiming in, not helpful, kept trying to talk us into things we didn't want, overall just really rude no smiles awful customer service

I really tried but it's three-strikes-youre-out for Kuiken for me, primarily because of the apathetic sales support and last-century turnaround times. The first project was a request for options for replacing a window. After providing very clear requirements the first two quotes were way off the mark and I had to go to a physical location during their extremely limited hours and do all the speccing from a catalog myself. The second project involved ordering hardware for the interior of my home for which the sales staff had no knowledge of, or ability to help calculate spacing and quantities. What's worse, once I finally figured it out for them they only place orders for certain hardware once a week which means you'll wait up to a week FOR THE ORDER TO BE PLACED AT ALL. The final project I didn't even go through with even though it was the simplest: I just needed to order some wood. That's it! I wasted a half day trying to get through to their staff on the phone and never made it. I ordered from a competitor later that day who picked up right away, and had it delivered to my door the following morning. Two stars instead of one only because they do free local delivery if you manage to get an actual order placed.

I’ve been waiting now for a half hour for them to pull my order. they called me this morning saying the order is in. I drive over and they can’t find it. Terrible organization.

Throughout the years I have several construction projects. I am not a builder or developer but a regular person who likes to take on construction projects. I am also not a huge customer. Actually very small and infrequent one. Yet my experience with Kuiken Brothers has been great. . I will tell you under Doug's leadership, the company, service and customer interest has grown tremendously. Recently I had a railing project that had a very tight deadline and the method of construction was somewhat outside of the normal suggested method. Steve Dykstra was great and very concerned with making sure all went well.. He also put me in touch with the regional representative for the company who was very responsive to my questions and provided me with all of the information I needed. Then when it came time to order the materials, one of the items was on back order and would not arrive for 2 weeks. The Kuiken customer service sprung into action and everyone from Steve all the way up to Doug became involved to find and deliver the needed parts on time so the project could be completed by the deadline. I will tell you that this level of customer service will not be found in HD or Lowes. and if I had gone elsewhere I know that the project would not have been completed on time.Bottom line, this is a quality company whose leadership sets the tone for all of the employees. It is obvious that the entire company has been trained that the most important part of any business is the customer. This commitment to service shows and is woefully missing in business. This is a quality company who you can rely on to get you whatever you need and to go the extra mile when problems arise. Doug, you have built a fine organization. Glenn G
