Overall Feedback:

Initially I was very please with Dan's service of recovering data on a MacBook and replacing the hard drive with a solid state drive. He requested I provide an external drive as a place to store the recovered data. I brought him a terabyte drive that had some existing files on it. The drive had mostly pictures and music files, but more importantly, the only remaining videos I had left of my children after my hard drive and other back-up drive had failed. When I received the terabyte drive back, my pre-exiting files were gone. There were new partitions set up. I asked Dan if there was a problem, and he claimed the drive was empty when he received it. I had personally been on the drive and had ejected it myself prior to giving it to him. He even claimed that my hybrid car was possibly to blame. I returned the drive to him, and after a week, I called to see if there was any progress. He stated it would be done by a specific day. That specified day, I went directly to his business, and he claimed he had not attempted to figure out the problem or recover any data. Fearful he would lose the previously recovered data, I decided take it to a different recovery servicer. After taking the drive to two other data recovery business, I have come to the conclusion that he reformatted the drive and over-wrote my drive with the recovered files. It would have been one thing to make a mistake, and admit to the mistake so I could accept it and move on. It is unacceptable though, to not admit to the mistake, not try to remedy the situation within 10 days, and to add insult, by leaving me wasting time and money trying to recover something that is no longer there. I hope this saves someone else the time and frustration, I highly recommend duplicating and maybe triplicating any data that is irreplaceable. I know that ultimately the loss of this data is my fault, but do not appreciate the wild goose chase I went on clinging to hope that there was a remedy.Edit: After posting this review, the owner Dan, continues to deny his wrong-doing by accusing me in a reply of this review, of being neglectful of my own equipment. I never put the hard drive in my trunk, nor would I leave something so precious in an unsafe environment for an unecessay amount of time. Hopefully this pattern of denial speaks for itself when making a decision on wether to trust this business with your treasured equipment.
