Our family has had a horrible vacation experience due to Landis’s unprofessional handling of a Landlord-tenant problem. During this time the matter was handled by a Landis employee who would only give his name as “Sam”. We had paid in advance for a rental unit on 52nd Street, to include a functioning washer and dryer. Upon arrival the washer was malfunctioning. We reported this promptly and were assured that a new washer would be delivered to the unit on either Sunday or Monday. On Monday afternoon we called Landis since we had not received the washer. During this conversation “Sam” told us that the washer would not be delivered until Thursday at the earliest. We explained that our group had 4 adults and 3 children and needed this washer. When we explained that this was unacceptable and we needed the washer or a rental adjustment Landis’s only reply was:”I’m just repeating what the owner said. “I h ave dealt with realtors (and other professionals) for over 30years. This conduct is an abdication of Landis’s professional responsibility just to curry favor with a property owner instead of informing that owner of the owner’s contractual responsibilities. They have our advance payment and are probably assuming that we won’t pursue this further. They are wrong. I intend to report this to the Real Estate commission as well as pursue any other legal avenues available against both the owner and Landis. I would NOT recommend Landis.
